Chapter 4 - Shadows of the Unknown

That morning, Selena felt something different. Though her days were usually uneventful, and her routine had returned to its usual flow, there was an unexplainable sensation lingering in her heart, as if something important was about to happen. She couldn't articulate it, but the feeling was there, unavoidable.

After enjoying a simple breakfast in her apartment, Selena prepared to leave for work. However, before she stepped out, her eyes caught the large mirror hanging in her living room. In her reflection, she didn't just see a woman burdened with worries, but someone who often questioned what she truly wanted in life.

On her way to the office, her mind kept drifting back to yesterday's incident—successfully warning Clara about the near accident. But a deeper sense of anxiety crept into her thoughts. If her ability to see the future grew stronger, what would come next?

Upon arriving at the office, Selena noticed a slightly different atmosphere. There was tension in the air, though nothing she could pinpoint.

She walked into her room, placed her bag on the desk, and sat down for a moment.

A few minutes later, Reza, her close colleague, approached her with a worried expression. "Selena, there's something I need to talk about. It's unusual, but I feel you should know," he said.

Selena looked at him, slightly surprised. "What is it?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

Reza hesitated before finally speaking. "There have been some changes in the company. Someone—someone very influential—is planning a major restructuring soon. I'm worried these changes might affect all of us, and some people could lose their jobs."

As Reza continued explaining, Selena's mind wandered. Perhaps this had something to do with the strange feeling she'd had earlier that morning. Suddenly, her eyes closed, and a vivid vision appeared in her mind.

She saw herself in a conference room surrounded by tense faces, followed by a stack of documents falling to the floor. Panic filled the room, and something significant—something bad—was happening. A profound decision was about to alter many lives.

Quickly, Selena opened her eyes and looked at Reza, her gaze filled with worry. "Reza," she said firmly, "there's something very important we need to discuss right now."

Reza paused, staring at her in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"A major change is coming, something tied to this restructuring," Selena said seriously. "And we need to be careful. This isn't just a rumor—there's something bigger happening, and I can see it."

Reza remained silent, merely staring at her for a moment. "You... You're sure?"

Selena nodded. "Yes, I'm sure. We need to prepare, Reza. This change won't be easy."

Later that afternoon, as Selena returned home, a heavy feeling weighed on her chest. Although she could warn people, she felt trapped in a life filled with anxiety and the burden of the past. Her existence, always striving to stay calm and normal, felt increasingly fragile.

Selena knew that her ability to see the future was both a curse and a gift. Every time she saw what was coming, she couldn't escape the feeling that there was more to face. Sometimes, she wished she could stop seeing altogether, but on the other hand, she knew that what she saw was a responsibility she couldn't avoid.

Yet, amidst the tension, there was one thing that kept her going: her determination to remain a good, dignified woman despite the uncertainty in her life. No matter what happened, she wouldn't let the world change her.

However, as night fell and Selena lay in her bed, a darker feeling enveloped her. Suddenly, a powerful vision appeared, far clearer than any she had ever experienced before. This time, it wasn't just an image—it was a voice, resonating deeply in her mind.

"There's something greater behind this, Selena. You cannot escape it. Time is running out..."

Selena woke up with her heart pounding, cold sweat dampening her forehead. She glanced around her room, breathing heavily. What had just happened? What did they mean by "time is running out"?

Before she could think further, the sound of her apartment door opening echoed through the silence. Selena turned toward the door, her heart racing.

Standing at the threshold was a figure, dressed neatly, with an unfamiliar face. The figure looked at her with an unreadable expression, as though knowing far more than they should.

"There's something I need to discuss with you, Selena," the figure said in a low, calm voice, filled with mystery.

Selena felt her legs weaken, and a question echoed in her mind: Who is this person? And what do they really want?
