Amid all these things, Light was busy returning home. There were now two things left on his to-do list that were heavy and difficult to do. One was to have a serious supply of clean water that could last for a very long time, and the other was to buy clean and cultivable vitamin soil because of the drought.
Drought may seem like a strange issue, but the amount of snow that fell was so gigantic that it reached a length of 10 or 20 metres. That's how it was in those times when Light lived or saw it, that's why almost none of the people could even leave their homes, they froze to death and turned into zombies.
Besides that, there was a red sun in the sky. This sun was hot, but this heat did not have a great effect on the climate. As a result, this snow drought officially collapsed on humanity like a catastrophe. The heat only worked on humans, as if God had sent a punishment to humanity.
Nevertheless, despite all this, this red sun had a great effect on people. As Light had learnt from watching the news, the amount of radiation emitted by this red sun was enormous. Scientific sources were already saying that this was the main source of the mutation, but the public did nothing but say that it was the work of scientists.
It was precisely for these reasons that Light wanted to buy clean, workable, vitamin-rich soil in case they needed to grow plants, as well as clean water to feed the soil. He needed both drinking water and a stock of water for this species.
He still had a lot of work to do.
-----
Light had woken up in the early hours of the morning with the heavy and yet bright sunlight hitting his eyes. Last night, after a long time, he had drunk alcohol and eaten a few things and had fallen asleep, afraid of having a terrible dream again.
He was lucky that he had consumed a large amount of alcohol, otherwise, his trauma would have been triggered by his sleep, and even if he had looked for a way to overcome this trauma, he had learned that the most effective way was to leave it to time. Of course, his fear had pushed him to drink alcohol, at least for the time being.
"Ring-Ring! Ring-Ring!"
Light, who got up from the bed with the sudden ringing of his phone, immediately reached for his phone on his right and then answered the phone.
"ARE YOU CRAZY?!"
Light, who was suddenly exposed to his sister's shouts, seemed to feel his head throbbing.
"Sis?" said Light suddenly, he knew very clearly what he was angry about, or rather what he was angry about.
"YOU'RE CALLING ME FROM YOUR COMPUTER NOW! I WON'T GET ANGRY IF I DON'T GET IN YOUR FACE!" At Petunia's sudden shout, Light involuntarily got fully out of bed, slowly walked out of the bedroom and walked towards the computer room.
The fact that there were four bedrooms besides the master bedroom showed how huge his house was. Of course, even if he wasn't touching his family's money, he could at least get an acceptance from his sister that he could use money for comfort.
With that, he switched to the computer, called his sister and ended the call on the phone.
Light, who had managed to connect to the call in less than a second, did not wear his headphones because he realised what was coming and started to hear his sister's voice even though his headphones were half a metre away from him:
"I never thought you would make such stupid decisions in my life! Okay, I said I would support you, but calm down a little! What kind of deals did you make before you even had the money? Tens of thousands of tonnes of canned food? And you even trying to buy more! Specialised construction vehicles from 12 different construction equipment companies? I understand everything, but what do you mean by a safe house? And so far away from me? Do you hate your sister that much?!"
After only a short while, his sister's voice had diminished and after a while it had stopped, after which Light took his headphones and put them on his head and then said, "Good morning to you too, sister, can you calm down for two seconds, please?" and unknowingly his fire officially rumbled even more.
Petunia was about to shout after these words when she suddenly managed to calm herself down and then asked, "Do you want to tell me what you are trying to do?"
Light didn't expect his sister to calm down so quickly, but he realised that he couldn't tell her anything because he didn't want to be seen as a loser patient by his sister.
That's why he shook his head from side to side and then said "I just want to live safely for the rest of my life. You know I'm not in favour of working, I already have money and you're the only family I have, so I'll stay safe and live my life." He was doing his best to avoid the question.
"Do you realise how dangerous what you're doing is, though? I mean, if you spend big money like that, you're going to get spending sickness. You've only touched a tiny fraction of our money or money in your entire life, and doing something like this all of a sudden could get you in trouble."
Petunia was thinking about Light as usual, but what she didn't know was that Light had done everything he did for her, so he had no interest in backing down.
"I mean, I realise that, but I'm sure I'll lose this habit, so don't worry, sis, everything will be fine."
Petunia smiled at these words and started laughing with all her anger disappearing, saying, "You think you are preparing for the apocalypse." Light laughed quite sincerely at this sentence, but he also felt strange because of the weight of knowing that his sister's joke would come true after a short time.
In just two days he had managed to accomplish most of the things on his to-do list. On top of that, Light realised that Adam hadn't told Petunia about the talk about the guns, and it was clear that he had indeed had the help of someone trustworthy.
Now all that was left to do was to complete a few items and get stronger.
