Today was the last day, December 31st 2024. Light had been waiting for this day for a long time. He had managed to persuade his sister and succeeded in inviting her to his house for a week's holiday. The first stage of his plan was complete, the only thing left to do was to wait for the news to be broadcast internationally.
As Light recalls, the events unfolded as follows:
A citizen had been bitten by another aggressive citizen and the police had to kill the aggressive citizen.
As a result of the research carried out by scientists in a short period, the possibility of the spread of this virus, which they called the zombie virus, and even the statements that almost every person was already suffering from this disease had started a deep quarantine all over the world.
After all these events that took place in just one night, deep snow began to fall without a storm and many roads were blocked.
In fact, this was the main reason why Light and his sister Petunia could not meet at the previous time, after all, the road between London and Oxford was not very short especially when there were metres of snow.
However, he put the food he had made behind his thoughts on the table and waited for his sister to reach home. After a long wait, the gate bell rang and Petunia came home.
Entering the house, Petunia could not hide her surprise, she could hardly believe that her silly and lazy brother had made such beautiful home decorations, of course, most of the decorations had been chosen by Adam.
"How do you like it?"
Light's sudden question fixed Petunia's attention on him and she nodded her head carefully and said "It's quite nice, I would like to live here, it's so quiet and far away from everything, you have chosen the perfect place."
Light honestly did not expect his sister to show her feelings so easily. From the moment Petunia turned 20 years old and after her parents passed away, she always looked after Light.
Even when she attended international meetings, she travelled to the meetings with a pram, just to make sure that Light was in good condition. No matter how busy she was, she would suddenly quit her job and come to pick Light up from school just to cheer him up.
She was an old woman and she had the right to be happy, right from the beginning. However, Petunia denied this right and wanted to use this happiness by wishing that her brother would grow up and become at least an intelligent individual. Knowing that this was true made Petunia very happy.
"So...my house is your house, you can stay here for years if you want, I have no problem." Light's words surprised Petunia and made her happy at the same time.
"I'll be with you every time I'm free, don't worry."
After these words, the two sat down at the dining table and both of them instantly entered into an incredible feeling. Light didn't know when was the last time he had a meal alone with his sister, every time there was at least a manager or someone else with them. Indeed, after a long time, the two had the chance to spend time like two sisters.
At least the peace would last for a while.
-----
"This is a sudden special news bulletin!"
While the two brothers were happily enjoying their meal, these voices came from the TV in the living room. Light's expression suddenly changed and he suddenly stood up. Noticing the sudden change in her brother's face, Petunia started to worry.
Light quickly sat in front of the television and then listened intently to the news. The date was written on the upper right edge where the news channel and the main bulletin appeared, and this would be the bulletin that briefly presented the research data of the first case seen.
The day after that, it was announced that the outbreak could not be contained at this time and that a state of emergency would be declared throughout the country. Light seemed to know exactly what would be said in the bulletin.
"The cause of the sudden and despicable massacre that took place in the centre of London at midday yesterday has been established by order of the highest levels of government and the quick work of Oxford scientists."
"Oxford scientist Sir Michael Boston said in a press release that the cause of this despicable massacre was that the brain collapsed for unknown reasons and woke up again in an unknown way. Sir Michael Boston said that the body of the person who committed the massacre was quite disgustingly corroded, like a dead body that had been underground for months, but despite all this, it was still stronger than an average person, and said that this virus is called the [zombie] virus."
"Sis...." The moment Light heard this news, he thanked God a thousand times. Indeed, the fact that nothing he had done so far, or that status window he had seen, had been due to the possibility of him becoming schizophrenic made him incredibly happy.
Although the fact that he had the Sub-Space ability told him that he was not schizophrenic, he was just not sure about the apocalypse.
"Can you believe it, Light? I mean, even if I trust the scientists, zombies? Are they making some kind of action or horror film?" When Petunia uttered these words, Light stood up and suddenly grabbed Petunia by the hands.
Looking into her sister's eyes with very angry eyes, Light suddenly said, "Please stay here for a few days, I know you were only going to stay for a day and come back, even though I begged you to stay for a week, but please don't go out like this."
Petunia had never seen her little brother with such a look before. Who knows how much it hurt her as a big sister to see her little brother so sad.
Petunia still thought that it would not be right for her to leave her work, so she tried to tell her brother that she had to go. However, that sudden thing Light said convinced Petunia to stay in this house:
"Sis...I have something to tell you."
