Chapter 15 - Chapter 16: A New Challenger

Christine had been harboring a secret crush on Emily for what felt like an eternity. She had watched from afar as Emily and Sophia's relationship blossomed, feeling a pang of jealousy with each passing day.

Determined to make her move, Christine asked Emily out on a date, trying to play it cool as she awaited Emily's response.

To Christine's delight, Emily agreed to meet up with her. As they sat down at a quaint little café, Christine couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement.

But as the date progressed, Christine's nerves began to get the better of her. She found herself struggling to keep up with Emily's witty banter, feeling increasingly awkward with each passing minute.

In a desperate bid to salvage the date, Christine leaned in and kissed Emily forcefully, hoping to spark some sort of romantic connection.

But as she pulled away, Christine's eyes locked onto a furious face - Sophia's mom, standing just a few feet away, her eyes blazing with anger.

Christine's heart sank as Sophia's mom stormed over, her face twisted in a scowl. "You're the one who's been seeing my daughter's girlfriend," she spat, her voice dripping with venom.

Christine nodded sheepishly, feeling a sense of trepidation. "I...I just really like Emily," she stammered.

Sophia's mom turned on her heel and stormed off, leaving Christine feeling shaken and confused.

As she made her way back home, Sophia's mom couldn't wait to tell Sophia all about what she had just witnessed. "Sophia, you won't believe what I just saw," she said, barely containing her rage.

Sophia looked up from her book, a sense of trepidation washing over her. "What is it, Mom?" she asked, her voice cautious.

"It's Emily," her mom spat. "She's been cheating on you with some other girl. I saw them kissing at the café downtown."

Sophia's heart felt like it had been punched, leaving her struggling to breathe. Could it be true? Was Emily really cheating on her?
