Sophia's eyes welled up with tears as she stood before her mother, her voice shaking with emotion. "Mom, please listen to me," she begged. "I love Emily. I love her with all my heart."
Her mother's face remained stern, but Sophia could see the faintest glimmer of uncertainty in her eyes. "Sophia, you're young," she said. "You don't know what you want."
But Sophia was resolute. "I do know what I want, Mom," she said. "I want Emily. I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I want to grow old with her, to have babies with her, to build a life together."
Her mother's expression softened slightly, but her voice remained firm. "Sophia, I won't accept this," she said. "You're my daughter, and I won't let you throw your life away on... on someone like Emily."
Sophia's tears spilled over, streaming down her face as she cried out in frustration. "You don't understand, Mom," she sobbed. "Emily's touch is what I crave. It's what I need. It's what makes me feel alive."
Her mother's face went pale, and for a moment, Sophia thought she saw a glimmer of fear in her eyes. But then her expression hardened again, and she turned away. "I won't discuss this anymore, Sophia," she said. "You're grounded, and you'll stay that way until you come to your senses."
Sophia's heart sank, but she knew she couldn't give up. She would find a way to be with Emily, no matter what her mother said.
