Alvin stood in front of a long table. In front kf him, there were rank 4 wind gems, icicle fern and Skywhisper reed.
Unlike weekdays where there were some students in the training room, there was only teacher Elias and Alvin in the training room.
"You have been practising Phoenix Rebirth cloud cultivation for months. And you are quite good at it. We can start to try the element upgrade for your cloud" Elias said.
"Ok" Alvin nodded his head with a solemn face. He knew that it would be a difficult process. The Phoenix Rebirth enabled Alvin to upgrade his cloud element. Yet, it came with some price, the material was rare and expensive, there was some risk in upgrading the element.Alvin might be hurt by it.
"The upgrading process is going to happen inside your cloud, no one can help you on this. I will make sure no one comes in and interrupts you" Elias said
"Alright, let's do it." Alvin said as he nodded.
Alvin summoned his cloud on his hand. On the cloud, there was a grey colour rank 1 wind symbol.
"Phoenix Rebirth" Alvin exclaimed. He activated his Phoenix Rebirth. After awhile, his cloud shone in red colour, attracting cloud energy and changing the way cloud energy operated in his cloud.
As the red light grew brighter, Alvin took the icicle fern on hand and melted it with cloud energy, turning it into liquid form. Then, Alvin carefully poured the liquid on his cloud. Slowly, his cloud turned into a blue-red colour.
This was the first step of the element upgrade. During the upgrade, Phoenix Rebirth might cause damage on Alvin's cloud, so this Icicle fern was needed to protect his cloud from burning.
Once his cloud turned entirely blue-red, Alvin could feel the coldness from his cloud. Then, he further activated the Phoenix Rebirth. A shiny red light was formed on his cloud, burning the cloud. Slowly, in the middle of his cloud, there was a red vortex, as if devouring the cloud energy
Although Alvin felt a bit of a pain and hot, he remained focused on the cultivation.
"Put in the gems and sky whispers now." Elias said.
With a nod, Alvin put the rank 4 wind gems and skywhisper into the red vortex. Instantly, the red vortex absorbed the wind gems and skywhisper.
Then, Alvin felt a pain inside his body as if some foreign material was forced into his body. He was frowning, sweating and gasping
Although he knew that it was a tough process, he didn't know it was so painful.
"Don't stop. Focus and do your Phoenix Rebirth. This is the most crucial step." Alvin heard Elias's voice.
Hearing that, Alvin clenched his teeth and took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. Then, he continued to perform his cloud cultivation.
Following the Phoenix Rebirth, the cloud energy in his cloud was flowing and swirling in a clockwise direction, absorbing the wind gem and the skywhisper.
Seeing Alvin undergo such a painful process, Elias's eyes filled with concerns.
"Such a tough kid. Although he wasn't born with great talent, he was born with a great personality. Magnus, you have such a good son." Elias mumbles to himself.
2 hours later, the redness on his cloud faded, turning back into a white cloud. At the same time, the grey colour wind symbol started to turn green. This was a sign that Alvin possessed the wind element in his cloud.
Alvin exhaled a breath and opened his eyes.
Alvin smiled. Although his clothes were wet due to the sweat, he didn't care. He was excited that he succeeded in the element upgrade.
"I made it." Alvin smiled, and then raised his head and gazed at the teacher Elias. Initially Alvin didn't have much confidence in upgrading his element. He heard from Elias that no one had tried the Phoenix Rebirth. However, with his trust in Elias, he gave it a try anyway.
Elias gave Alvin a smile.
"Do you feel pain or anything strange on your body?"
"Nope, everything is good. I even feel that my body has become healthier."
Alvin raised his hand, his palm facing a dummy that they used for practise. His eyes turned sharp. There was a confident smile on his face.
"First cloud spell, rank 1 Wind Blade"

Alvin's jaw dropped. He used to do his practise on the dummy. Normally he could only push it for 35 meters. However, now he was able to push the dummy for 50 meters.
A normal rank 0 wind blade would be able to push the dummy for 40 meters. The reason for Alvin's wind blade to push the dummy for 50 meters was because it was a rank 1 wind blade. In short, Alvin didn't have any shortcomings due to his cloud element anymore. He was officially a wind element attack mage.
Alvin felt excited, thinking about his cloud ability. As of now, Alvin reached the cloud level 15, got a wind element and a 4 stars power Phoenix Rebirth cultivation.
While others were having a 5 or 6 stars cultivation method, some genius on the higher level even got 7 or 8 stars cultivation method, Alvin's Phoenix Rebirth cultivation was only 4 stars at the moment. Yet, he wasn't sad. He believed in himself on upgrading the Phoenix Rebirth and gathering more elements.

"Yaha, I got an element now." Alvin said. He remembered how everyone looked down at him because of him being elementless. Now, he got his first element and more to come.
