The students were murmuring about their fight. Most of them believed that Charles stood little chance to win. After all, his opponent, Kaelan was a top 3rd grade student.
However, Alvin had the opposite opinion. There were a lot of factors affecting a fight such as archery skill, cloud level, cloud spell, element. Alvin noticed that Charles didn't have a disadvantage over Kaelan on all the factors.
In fact, Alvin believed Charles had the upper hand. Charles's archery skill was better. Charles's cloud controlling was comparable with Kaelan. The only disadvantage Charles had was the wound on his arm. Alvin wasn't sure if that would affect Charles's movement.
Blood was dripping down from Charles's arm
Charles was glaring at Kaelan while wiping his hand on his shirt.
Seeing that, Kaelan smirked. Of course, Kaelan didn't stop his attack. Now was his best chance to win.
Both of them knew that speed was the key to winning this fight. At the same moment, they raised their bow, aiming at each other.
Next second, Charles and Kaelan shot the arrow at each other. Then, they were running to the side together while releasing more and more arrows.
This wasn't a coincidence. After all, Charles wanted to attack, Kaelan also wanted to attack. So they ended up dodging the attack while shooting out more arrows.
Thunder boom and Ice age were everywhere on the stage, splitting the stage into regions of ice and thunder. They were exchanging arrow and cloud spells. Yet, none of them were able to make an effective attack.
After a while, Charles frowned, panting. He felt tired. His wound and bleeding made him weak.
Seeing that, Kaelan grinned. That was exactly what he expected. His plan was to wait until Charles was tired and made a mistake. He believed it was one of the safest and easiest strategies.
"I gotta be fast." Charles thought to himself.
Then, his eyes turned sharp. He knew that he needed to end the fight soon. If not, he didn't have enough stamina to fight.
"First cloud spell, rank 1 Thunder boom, ultra speed" Charles mumbled to himself. Charles cast his thunder boom on an arrow and shot it out. Usually he would cast one thunder boom on the arrow. However, this time, he cast two thunder booms, one on the arrow tips, another on the arrow nock.

The thunder boom on the arrow nock exploded. Its explosive force moved the arrow faster. The arrow moved like lightning, leaving a stretch of purple light in the air.
With just 0.2 seconds, the arrow reached Kaelan. Then, just as the arrow touched Kaelan, the second thunder boom exploded. Due to the strong explosive force, Kaelan flew out from the stage.
Seeing that, Charles breathed a sigh of relief. He felt relief that he won. The thunder boom ultra speed was his secret skill. Although it was difficult to control the accuracy in long distance, it was good enough to use in a short distance like this.
"Winner, Charles" Mr Christopher announced.
On the stage, Charles grinned ear to ear.
A boy, a bow.
A thunder, a winner.
"Yes, Charles won"
"Ya, amazing way to use his cloud spell"
"Of course, he is one of the best in our mage class"
The 1st grade student was murmuring.
The teachers nodded their heads when they noticed how Charles utilises his cloud spell.
Under the stage, Alvin smiled as he saw Charles won. He knew that Charles deserved this win. It wasn't easy to use the thunder boom to accelerate the arrow.
On the other hand, William was looking after the Kaelan who was lying on the floor. There was a dangerous gleam in William's eyes.

After half an hour, Charles walked back to his seat, with his arm bandaged.
"Nice one man" Alvin said.
"Hehe" Charles chuckled.
"How is your arm" Alvin asked, looking at the bandages.
"Just a small wound. The healer helps me to stop the bleeding. Luckily, it didn't hurt the bone." Charles gestured at the healer who stood beside the stage.
"Take care." Alvin nodded. Alvin could tell that Charles was satisfied with his fight. Although Charles was injured, there was a big smile on his face.
Then, they heard Mr Christopher call out Alvin's name.
"The next one will be 1st grade general knowledge class Alvin versus 3rd grade mage class William" Mr Christopher announced.
Alvin sensed someone looking at him. He turned his head and saw William staring at him with a smirk. Beside William, Emily gave Alvin a thumbs down.
"William, give him a lesson" Emily said. Even after a few months, she was still angry about losing to Alvin.
"Just an elementless" William sneered. He knew that he had advantages in the fight. His cloud element would give him more damage compare to an elementless cloud. Yet, he didn't know that Alvin had upgraded his element with the Phoenix Rebirth.
In fact, no one knew about it except Mr Elias, not even Charles.
"Be careful" Charles said to Alvin.
"Sure."
Alvin nodded and exchanged a fist bump with Charles before walking to the stage.
Walking to the stage, Alvin heard lots of murmurs about him.
"So, he is the elementless"
"Ah ha, definitely William is going to win."
"I agree, elementless don't stand a chance to win"
Alvin walked up the stage with his head up, his back straight and his shoulder back.
On the stage, Alvin's blue robe was fluttering with air. He was gazing at William who stood in front of him. William didn't bring any weapons with him. Alvin guessed that William was an attack mage like him.
"Alright, introduce yourself." Mr Christopher said.
