On the stage, Mr Christopher waited for everyone to be seated before giving his speech.
Alvin looked at the stage while waiting patiently for the exam to start. Just as last time, the round stage was used as the fighting stage. Above the stage, there hung a red banner '1st Grade Final Exam'.
Seeing everyone was seated and quiet, Mr Christopher said.
"1st grade student, today will be your final exam. I would like to remind all of you the rules for the exam. First, no cheating, no one can use potions or cloud items in the fight. Second, you are considered lost when you fall out from the stage. Third, this is just an exam. So, no killing"
Mr Christopher moved his gaze through the students. Seeing the student nodding, he continued.
"Now, we are going to start with the first exam, which is the 1st grade student vs 3rd grade student. This will be a fair fight as 3rd grade students will only use the same cloud level as 1st grade students. The purpose of this arrangement is for you to understand the importance of cloud energy control and fighting technique. With that, we will start with the first candidate"
Mr Christopher lowered his head and looked at the document on his hand.
Sitting in the last few rows, Alvin noticed that all the students were looking at Mr Christopher, hoping that they weren't the first one. Some were praying that they got a weak opponent.
"First fight, 1st grade mage class, Sally versus 3rd grade mage class, Jane." Mr Christopher announced.
In this exam, the mage class student would fight with a mage class student, knight would fight with a knight. This was for the fairness of the exam.
Sally and Jane walked onto the stage.
"Introduce yourself" Mr Christopher said
"Sally, cloud level 12 attack mage" A cloud with an ice symbol formed on Sally's hand.
"Jane, cloud level 18 attack mage" A cloud with a wood symbol formed on Jane's hand.
"3, 2, 1, start" Mr Christopher announced.
Alvin saw that Sally immediately raised her hand and cast her first cloud spell. Jane was slower a little bit.
"First cloud spell, rank 0 ice rock" Sally exclaimed. A large ice rock formed and shot at Jane.
Although Sally was fast in casting the magic, she wasn't fast enough for her attack to hit Jane.
"First cloud spell, rank 0 Root Entanglement" Jane exclaimed. Tons of vines surged from the ground, formed a web in front of her, blocking the ice ball.
*piammmm
The ice ball hit the vines and left a ice marks on it, as if the vines was frozen.
Alvin squinted his eyes. He knew that Sally was at a disadvantage postiion. First, Sally didn't have enough damage to break through the vines.
Second, Jane had the terrain advantage. Jane could just form a lot of vines and block the ice rock, at the same time, attack Sally.
As expected, Jane smirked. Once she saw that the ice rock couldn't break the vines in one hit, she knew that she had the upper hand.
Hiding behind the vines, Jane was observing Sally through the holes in between vines.
"First cloud spell, rank 0, root entanglement" Jane exclaimed.
Vines surged out from the ground on Sally's left side, extended towards Sally with the sharp end.
Instantly, Sally darted to the right side, dodging the attack. While running, Sally cast her cloud spell.
"First cloud spell, rank 0, ice rock." Sally cast a ice rock to stop the vines. The ice rock froze the vines and stopped it from growing.Sally frowned. She knew that if she couldn't damage the vines faster than their formation. She didn't stand a chance to even hurt Jane.
With a roar, Sally accelerated to the right side, finding a workable angle to cast her spell. Her eyes were sharp and cold. Just a second, she bypassed the vines and saw Jane.
Cloud energy was an important resource in a fight. Whoever used up all the cloud energy would be in a dangerous position because one couldn't cast a spell. However, Sally didn't seem like going to save her cloud energy.
"Ice rock" Sally raised her hand and cast three ice rock, all aiming at different places. One of the rock aimed at Jane, another two blocked Jane's way out.
Seeing that, Jane squatted down and summoned vines in front of her. Many thin vines entangled together and formed a vines wall, blocking the ice rock.
After casting the three ice rock, Sally didn't stop at all, she cast three more ice rocks at the vines in front of Jane, trying to break it.
Jane darted backward and summoned another round of vines. With previous experience, Jane knew that it took around 2 hits to break her vines. With two layers of vines in front of her, she was safe.
"Time to attack, first cloud spell, rank 0 vines" Jane exclaimed
Due to Sally's awkward position, Sally's left side was blocked by the old vines. Now, there were two more vine attacks at her from different directions.
*booommmmm
The vines pushed Sally out from the stage.
On the stage, Jane's robe was fluttering.
Watching the fight, Alvin nodded. Indeed, Jane had a greater cloud control and strategy on fighting. At the same time, Alvin understood the importance of the element.
Normally, the wood element had higher defence. The ice element had more buff on slow speed and freezing.
Obviously, Jane was playing on her strength, which was the strong defence of her wood element. She was lucky because Sally was an ice element. If Sally was a fire element cloud holder, Jane would have a tough fight.
"Winner, 3rd grade Jane." Mr Christopher jotted down their score before announcing.
Mr Christopher looked at his document, finding the next pair. Then, he raised his head and looked at Charles.
"Next one. 1st grade mage class, Charles. 3rd grade mage class Kaelan." Mr Christopher announced.
