The Awakening
The weight on Dani's body grew unbearable. His vision blurred, and a dull ache spread through his limbs. He tried to keep his eyes open, but it was futile.
A familiar chime rang in his ears.
[System Notification: Host body is upgrading. Preparing for compatibility with recent changes.]
"Upgrading? What—" Dani's words were cut short as darkness claimed him.
A New Reality
When Dani's eyes fluttered open, a soft light illuminated the cave. He blinked, his vision slowly adjusting. The first thing he noticed was Emma sitting by his side, her tails swaying rhythmically.
But then his gaze shifted, and his breath caught in his throat.
Standing a few feet away were two stunning women. One had flowing silver hair that seemed to shimmer in the dim light, her piercing blue eyes holding an ethereal glow. The other had fiery red hair cascading down her shoulders, her golden eyes radiating a fierce intensity.
Dani sat up abruptly, his mind racing. "Who... who are you?"
The silver-haired woman stepped forward, her voice as soft as a breeze. "I am Emma," she said, a small smile gracing her lips. "You saved me, Dani."
Dani's jaw dropped. "Emma? But... you're..." He glanced over to where the dragon had been resting. Instead of the massive beast, there was only a faint outline scorched into the cave floor.
The red-haired woman crossed her arms, smirking. "I'm Tanis," she said. "Didn't think I could take a human form, did you?"
Dani blinked rapidly, his mind struggling to keep up. "Wait, what is happening?!"
A New Chapter Begins
Tanis knelt beside him, her presence calming. "Your bond with me has awakened a part of your potential, Dani. Your body needed to adapt to contain the power that comes with it."
Emma rolled her eyes playfully. "Basically, you're not as weak as you were before. You should thank us."
Dani let out a shaky laugh, his mind still spinning. He wasn't sure what this new development meant, but one thing was certain—his journey was only just beginning.
