Chapter 23 - The Lost Relic

The Lost Relic

Dani ran his fingers over the glowing minerals embedded in the cave walls, awe and frustration warring within him. "This is a goldmine," he muttered. "But what's the point if I have no way to extract or use it?"

Emma chuckled softly behind him. "You're impatient," she said, her tails swaying lazily. "You've only just begun, and you're already thinking of empires."

Tanis grinned, her sharp teeth glinting in the faint light. "You'll need more than dreams to build your kingdom, little one."

Before Dani could respond, Emma and Tanis each grabbed one of his hands. "Come," Emma said, her tone unusually serious. "We have something else to show you."

Curiosity piqued, Dani let them lead him out of the cave and into the forest. They moved deeper into the dense woods, the trees growing taller and the air colder with each step. The canopy above thickened, blotting out most of the sunlight.

After what felt like an eternity, the trees parted to reveal a massive clearing. Dani's jaw dropped.

In the center of the clearing stood a giant futuristic battleship. It was unlike anything Dani had ever seen, even in the sci-fi stories he'd read. Its sleek, metallic hull was scarred and weathered, with patches of moss and vines creeping up its sides. Though the ship looked ancient, it still exuded an aura of power and sophistication.

"What… what is this?" Dani whispered, stepping closer to the colossal structure.

Emma tilted her head. "It's what your kind would call a treasure."

Tanis smirked. "Go ahead, use your skill. See what it has to say."

Dani activated his Mind's Eye, focusing on the battleship. A system notification appeared:

Analyzing…

Analysis Complete.

Name: Aurora-Class Battleship

Condition: Average

Status: Non-operational

Reason: Lack of energy source

Description: A high-tech battleship designed for interstellar travel and warfare. Equipped with advanced weaponry, defense systems, and life-support mechanisms. Requires a suitable energy source to function.

Dani's mind raced as he absorbed the information. "It's… it's incredible. But it's useless without energy."

As he turned to question them, Tanis spoke first. "Long ago, after the dimensional collapse, a group of humans arrived on this planet. They came in this very ship, thinking they could conquer and survive here."

Emma's expression darkened. "They underestimated this world. The beasts tore them apart before they could even set up a base."

Tanis gestured to the ship. "When we found this… object, we knew it was something special. Too special to leave for scavengers. So, we moved it here, keeping it hidden and protected."

Dani stared at the battleship, his thoughts swirling. It was a relic of a forgotten era, a tool that could change everything. If he could find a way to power it, it would be a massive step toward his dream of creating the strongest family in space.

"But why show this to me?" Dani asked, turning to face Emma and Tanis.

Emma's golden eyes locked onto his. "Because you're different. You're not like the others who came before. You have something… unique."

Tanis nodded. "Consider this a gift. Or a test. If you can make this ship fly again, then maybe you really are worthy of the dreams you're chasing."

Dani clenched his fists, determination burning in his chest. "I'll do it. I'll bring this ship back to life. Just watch me."

Emma and Tanis exchanged knowing smiles. "We'll be watching," Emma said softly.
