Chapter 24 - The Energy Source

The Energy Source

Dani stood before the battleship, his thoughts racing. The sheer magnitude of the task ahead weighed on him, but amidst the swirling uncertainty, a realization struck him. His gaze turned back toward the cave filled with rich minerals and coal.

"Wait," he muttered to himself, a spark of hope igniting in his chest. "The minerals… they might be the energy source I need!"

Without wasting another second, he turned to Emma and Tanis, who watched him with curious expressions. "I need to go back to the cave," Dani said, urgency in his voice.

Emma's ears twitched, and she exchanged a glance with Tanis. "The cave? Why?"

"The minerals there—they could be the key to powering this ship!" Dani explained.

Emma tilted her head in thought, then gave a small nod. "If you believe so, then let's go."

The trio made their way back to the cave. As they stood before the glittering walls, Dani marveled at the treasure trove of resources hidden here. He turned to Emma, his face serious.

"Emma, can you extract these minerals for me?" Dani asked, his tone almost pleading.

Emma didn't hesitate. She stepped forward, her claws glowing faintly as she began to carve through the rock with precision and ease. Within moments, chunks of shimmering minerals and coal were neatly extracted and piled before Dani.

"There," Emma said, stepping back. "Is this enough?"

Dani stared at the pile, stunned by her efficiency. "Y-Yeah, that's perfect. Thank you."

Emma's golden eyes softened as she spoke. "You don't need to ask us for anything, Dani. If it's for you, we'll do it without question. You are our master now."

Dani froze at her words, feeling a strange mix of gratitude and discomfort. He shook his head firmly.

"No," he said, his voice steady. "I'm not your master. I don't want to be. We're companions, equals. If we're going to do this, we'll do it together."

Emma blinked, taken aback by his words. Tanis chuckled, her deep voice echoing through the cave. "You're an odd one, Dani," she said, smirking. "Most would revel in the idea of having us as their servants, but you… you're different."

Dani shrugged. "I'm not interested in ruling over anyone. Besides, it feels wrong. We're in this together, right?"

Emma's lips curled into a soft smile, and she nodded. "Together."

Tanis grinned. "Together, then. Let's see what you can do with these minerals."
