Lily worked through the explanation she gave to Dimitri hoping she conveyed everything that needed to be said to Max. He was silent the whole time listening to what she said trying not to judge. "So your telling me that I will have to share you? With other males?" was the first question that Max asked.
Lily keeping calm said, "Yes. And I know we haven't had any time for our relationship but...." He held his hand up a stoic look on his face. "Right now you need to heal. I'm guessing your going to need to rest for a day or two?" Looking to Trinee who nodded yes. "Alright, we will cross that bridge of other mates when you find them. For now rest. I seen the bandages and one looked a bit red. Come on Dimitri we still have a few things to talk about." Max said getting up to lean down kissing her cheek then walking towards the door. Dimitri go up reaching for her hand giving it a squeeze then following Max out the door.
Leaning back in her bed Lily sighs in frustration trying to understand what just happened. Max was impossible to read and their bond wasn't very strong for some reason. "Turn over Lily, I'll change your bandages," Trinee said pulling the blankets back. Lily ignored her while she worked trying to think of what the guys could have spoken about before they came back to her room. Max was always a reasonable person as well as Dimitri. If anything they were a lot alike and usually got along well.
She just didn't know what to think right now seeing as her whole world was about to change. "Was all that true, Lil? Are you the Moon Goddess's daughter? You're really the female of the prophecy?" Trinee asked finishing up with the last bandage. Lily turned on her side facing Trinee saying, "Yes its true. Of all the things I expected to happen this was not at the top of my list. I am glad to know where I actually come from. Your looking at a real life goddess. Who knew?"
Trinee laughed with her until she seen Lily start to cry. Moving to her bed she reached for Lily hugging her seeing that she needed a friend in that moment. "Hey it'll be okay? alright? If they can't pull their heads out of their asses then you can always come hide in the mountains with me? How's that sound?" Trinee said trying to cheer up her friend. "Thanks I just might take you up on that. I just... They both mean a lot to me. I love Max and I've always been close to Dimitri. I finally started feeling normal when all this started happening. You know she never did tell me why I had to be given to my first set of parents?" Lily said thinking about how the her birth mother only gave her half explanations.
"Don't worry about it right now. You need to rest. Just let all this sit. Its not going any where and they don't seem to be going too far from you. Rest," Trinee said giving Lily her stern doctor look. Giving her a small salute Lily scooched down in the bed letting her exhaustion finally take her into a dreamless sleep. "Sweet dreams my friend," the little dragon said closing the door quietly.
