Standing before the devastated great hall, Flynn's heart quaked for the first time.
Apart from the great chandelier burning with flames above, there was a tremendous presence of Τια in the surroundings, a very strange and seemingly alien type.
But despite having no idea what it was, he could feel a sense of rejection from his body as more Τια were automatically absorbed. Meaning staying here for long was dangerous.
Turning to glance at the others, they also appeared shaken, their face having turned paler than it usually was; Apart from Amelia of course.
While the alien Τια seemed dangerous, Flynn didn't feel it was severe or would be a problem much soon.
And before that, there was a much urgent problem to consider.
How he and his talkative teammate would survive from here henceforth considering that now was the best time to split ways with their former co-patners, after her failed attempt to rein in one of their group member.
Soon, everyone seemed to have awakened from their deliberation.
Alex turned to give them a cold glare, his lips parting into a sneer, as his eyes settled on Amelia for a few extra moment before turning to him.
"We shall now part ways Losers, Hope you wretches die."
"... also if you might still need that fight I can as well serve it to you now" his eyes still with vengeance and wounded pride , he taunted wishing the two would attack.
In response, neither Amelia or Flynn retorted, both instantly grasping what his thought was.
Alex could make a blade from air. The pompous looking girl, Angella who was playing dead had shown traits of her Will without its direct ability.
Jack, the traumatized white haired boy could summon a Terracotta Soldier which also had the ability to increase its strength for an instance.
'A big cheat.' Flynn thought.
All this combined, without a weapon, adding to the fact his Will only diminished his presence a great deal when activated. If they fought now, he had less than 10% chance of surviving. Not just him, he doubted the ebony skinned girl had a useful Will too.
So while his mystery card was still up, Flynn realized it was best they leave sooner.
'Well it seems you also don't have a Will useful in direct combat.'
'But he seems wary of your physique, adding to that composed and unfazed temperament of yours. He's doubting if your Will versatility in combat is better than his.'
'… so for now, let's maintain steeze and steadily retreat. I chose the hallway to the left:'
Without any forewarning, he heard a familiar talkative feminine voice intrude his thoughts.
Though her guess wasn't far off point, it was only a guess.
Beneath is composure, he doubted she believed what she said.
At best she had only been testing the waters to see if there would be any change in his expression when she said that.
.
After staring intensely at the two for a while, Alex sneered before turning to the right.
In accordance with the brightly illuminated great hall, there were three lesser hallways.
Two by sides and one opposite the last standing statue, which they stood before.
While the hall was scattered with debris from the statues. The debris in question was each half their size or the same.
Flynn's eyes squinted slightly, as he observed the remains, searching for a part of the debris that could be compared to what the statues once were.
Accompanied by Amelia, both seemed quite lost for a moment before the ebony skinned scrunched her brows as she stared at a deep scourge by the side.
'Look, this seems recent right?'
'Indeed' he thought unable to hold back a subconscious response.
The scourge was about two meters wide, seeming to have been dug with a missed blow from a huge weapon.
But focusing much intently on it, there was a faint type of Tia different from the alien one that filled the hall, that was yet to be erased. Probably the effect of a skill.
'Hey, you've noticed right?'
Responding to the voice inside his head, he gave a calm nod.
Clearly coming to the same realization as her.
A blow that could leave remnant Τια, wasn't ordinary and could only be done with the help of a Technique or a high titled Bearer considering that any Tia released by a Bearer would instantly disperse and merge with the surrounding and not stay on the spot.
"Those who fought here were definitely Big-shots."
For the first time in a while, Flynn spoke, muttering briefly as a spark seemed to ignite in his eyes.
'Younno I was starting to think you were dumb and deaf included.'
While showing indifference to these words, he glanced at the scattered deep scourges a few meters away. Squinting his senses he could feel a distinct type of remnant Tia there too.
"We have no clue why these people fought here, or what they fought."
"Adding to the corrosive Τια here, I see no reasons why we should dwell here."
Observing with a wary look, while his senses ticked at feeling the heat of the burning yellow flame above, he raised his arm to glance at his Stellar-watch only to see that it was dead.
'Hmmm, I agree. We should probably move faster, I bet the others are already on their heels. Only that both of us seem twisted enough to calmly want to explore some scourge while under life uncertainty. Don't you think?'
Hearing the feminine voice in his head again, he held back his disapproval for strange ability and nonchalantly agreed with her.
Perhaps it was one of the effects of having faced Tribulation, or how else could two teenagers remain calm under their current circumstances. Making him glance towards the ebony skinned girl.
"If so they should also be able to retain their calm."
Leaving his words to settle in the air for more than a few seconds. Both sides cautiously nodded.
'Smart ass, we should move quickly.'
Just then, he had enough of a voice talking inside his head.
"Can you stop…"
Bang!
Clang!
"Quick! Dodge Raylen! "
Then there was another Clang! followed by an agitating screech.
"Go!"
It wasn't known who said it first, but their voices synced.
Reacting, both Flynn and Amelia instantly dashed forward, where the clash reverberated from.
