"Hayden's room card. Make him take you back. I don't care if you spread your legs like you did for Alexander, just get him back." Cynthia remarked as she went through the wardrobe. Cynthia grabbed an emerald green velvet strap dress and flinging at her.
Amellia was flabbergasted, how can a mother say such crude things to her own child? Women should never spread their legs unless they sell their bodies. She was anything but that. "Pardon?" Amellia stared at Cynthia as if it was some crude joke of this world.
Cynthia sighed raggedly, "Did I not make myself clear enough? Spread those damn legs of yours and fix the sh*t you created!" Cynthia didn't keep her calm and lash out.
Amellia scoffed, "Why don't you take your own advice, Mother? Isn't father still with his wife? Can't get the man to put a ring on your finger?" Amellia scoffed, softly pressing where it hurt most. Eva might have let her mother treat her that way. No one gets that privilege.
"What?" Cynthia glared, her face twisting in disbelief. Amellia smiled sweetly, "I don't mean anything bad, Mother. I am just worried. You're not getting any younger, father needs to hurry, don't you think?"
Cynthia scoffed, folding her arms over her chest, "Whose fault do you think it is? If you hadn't messed up everything would have been fine. Since you worry so much, fix it before the weekend dinner." Cynthia sternly warned, storming out of the room in a huff.
Amellia grunted, just a few minutes in this place and she was already drained. Humans are vile but people like Cynthia are worse. No wonder, Eva was the same, she learned from her mother after all.
Amellia was too exhausted from planning or talking to utter stupidity. She laid back on the bed, closing her eyes remembering Eva's memories. She was an illegitimate daughter of a wealthy businessman. Even though she was born out of wedlock, her father accepted to pay for her but never acknowledged her in front of the public. She was his old friend's daughter who died before her birth. Everyone knew it was a lie but no one said anything to her face. There were whispers behind her back, mocking and jokes.
"Young miss? Young miss?" Amellia woke up with a soft warm voice. Maria stood there with a tray, holding every food she asked her for. Amellia took a sniff and the savoury smell of bacon filled her nostrils. In return, her stomach growled begging for food.
Amellia ended up flashing bright red hearing her stomach noise. Maria couldn't hold back on the chuckle making Amelia's face turn redder. She just sat up straight, her back leaning over the headboard trying to act nonchalantly. Maria didn't bully her further, instead just set up the table for her to eat.
Amellia took one glance at the plate filled with crispy bacon strips and eggs with a runny yolk and the other plate with warm bread sliced in a funny square shape. She didn't focus much on it and rather took a bite of the bread which just melted in her mouth.
"I must say, Maria, you are one of the best cooks I have ever met." Amellia praised stuffing her mouth with bread.
Maria smiled at her words, her eyes going over the emerald dress on the bed. She didn't have to guess that it was the young madam who put it there. After everything, she was trying every way to fix young miss engagements, anyone that brings profit only to get rejected.
"Should I put this dress away, young miss?" Maria inquired, carefully picking up the dress from the bed.
"Throw it away. Can you make sure no one enters my room except you in my room till I agree?" Amellia ever so sweetly asked. Her eyes glimmered a bit of evilness.
Maria never saw that side of Eva. Her voice was still sweet and soft but the confidence to ask or one should say order was foreign to Maria. It was like a new person taking over her body.
Maria kept her doubts to herself and nodded to Amellia's request. "I will try my best."

In a crowded street, a black car pulled up against a less busy area of business street. A middle-aged woman knocked on the tinted windows of the car. Slowly, the windows rolled down.
"It seems your crush has finally woke up." The middle-aged woman bragged, glancing at the man sitting in the back seat.
"It seems the Coopers insist on marriage with Hayden." She continued.
"Why are you here then? I am not paying you to inform me. Fix it before the family dinner." The man grunted at the information and ordered the woman.
"Why not just ask her hand in marriage? You scaring away guys from her life does nothing. Another will pop up." The woman shrugged, rolling her eyes.
"Do what I am paying you. Get your money when you are done with the job." The man rolled up the window driving away before hearing a response.
