Adrian entered the room, his hands in his pocket. In a dark black suit, fitting him well. His hair, unlike last time, was cast down, almost covering his forehead. Suddenly air seemed to leave the room, as he came closer to her. Strangely, she might have some serious heart disease if this continues.
Adrian stood in front of her, staring right at her. His face was still unreadable to her. It's like his mask never comes off, like a steel helmet.
Adrian's hand went to check her injury, making Amellia flicker away with a stern gaze as if it was a warning to not touch her.
"Adrian Harrison?" Cynthia was the first to speak, breaking the silence. Amellia took one last glance, before leaving the place with the maid.
Adrian's lips had a quick smile before hiding it away and looking at Cynthia. It was not a hidden fact that she was James Cooper's mistress, fighting over the wife's place. He still didn't understand why Skye never had any hatred or interest towards Cynthia but cared for Eva.
"I will cut to the chase. Get me the documents of Evanthe that are required in marriage registration, if you don't know, ask my secretary." Adrain pointed at the young woman standing him. Adrian wasn't interested in chit-chatting with a mistress of all. His eyes stick to the white door on the second floor where Eva disappeared with her maid.
He didn't wait for Cynthia's response and straight went up the stairs, going towards her room.
Maria was still cleaning Amellia's wound when the door to her room opened with Adrian walked in. Amellia glanced at him, unlike other times there was something strange about him. There was a glimmer in his eyes.
Amellia smiled, "I guess etiquette was never your thing, Mr Harrison." Amellia's voice, soft and calm unlike earlier, was exactly how Eva sounded.
Amellia could sense the twinkle in his eyes disappear, the mask of coldness once again surrounding him. He was strange and elusive. Adrian strolled up to her, "Your wishes came true."
"Which one?" Amellia crossed her arms, signalling Maria to leave them alone. Adrian's eyes scanned the room. It was barren, nothing personal. Just trophies Eva won nothing else. Adrian leaned onto the wardrobe just beside the couch where Amellia was sitting.
"Don't act innocent. You wanted a marriage, you get it." Adrian's voice was harsher, glaring at her with disgust almost.
Amellia chuckled at his words. "May I ask why the sudden change in decision? I thought you don't marry an illegitimate bastard."
"I don't. Don't be naive. I just want you to put an act up in front of your family that we are married." Adrian calmly explained.
"Why would I do that when I can actually marry you?" Amellia brows furrowed, amused by his audacity.
Adrian kept quiet for a second. "Alright. We can be married for real." Adrian smiled sweetly, catching Amellia off guard.
Amellia smiled, "See it was easy. Cheers to a happy marriage, Mr. Harrison."
Adrian nodded slowly walking towards her, his eyes remained at her. Amellia suddenly felt a shift in his demeanour. She hurriedly stood up, trying to walk out of the room. "I should tell Mother the good news." Amellia tried to excuse herself.
Adrian was quick in his steps, he grabbed her arms before she could walk away; pinning her onto the cupboard. His hands trapped her on either side.
"What do you think you are doing?" Amellia grunted, at the indecency of his behaviour. How can a man like him behave in such a crude and vile manner?
"What? You expected us to be married but not this?" Adrian leaned closer, whispering into her ear. His hot breath tangled with her senses. Amellia gulped, trying to release her hands from his grasp. She knew such stuff was common in this world still she wasn't ready.
"It's not a marriage yet. I would prefer you wait till the wedding night." Amellia tried to sneak her way out through sweet talk. Angering would do nothing to her except ruin her plans.
"It's the wedding night. My secretary already went to the magistrate to officiate the marriage." Adrian calmly responds, his grip on her hands tightening as he closes the distance between them. Without the clothes as a barrier, their skin was almost touching.
"Why? Are you shy?" Adrian teased, almost making Amellia glare at him.
"I am just a little traditional in such matters." Amellia tried to lean back trying to make space between them.
"What are you? A princess?" Adrian leaned in closer, making an effort to create space to waste. His eyes fixated on her.
"As I am matter of fact. I am." Amellia blurted out before she could even realize it. The room went quiet for some time. Amellia bit her lower lips realising her blunder. Adrian smiled, "Too bad, I don't care if you are one or not."
Adrian's head leaned closer, as Amellia averted her gaze, her head falling back on the wardrobe. There seemed no way out, she could feel his hot breath tingling her skin. She could hear his breath, as he leaned closer towards her ear. Amellia closes her eyes in fear, seeing no way out.
She could feel his warm lips touch the crook of her neck, almost burning her. The feeling tingling her stomach like nothing else. Maybe caterpillars are crawling inside her. Why was her world spinning right now? She needs to stop this. She was not ready to ruin herself like this.
"Remember Princess, if you ever are in a situation like this and kicking high enough isn't an option, hit here." Words echoed in Amellia's mind.
"Ah!" Adrian yelped out crying, letting go of her arms and touching his lower leg.
Amellia crossed her arms, glaring at him in victory, "You should listen and learn some manner instead of forcing yourself." Amellia huffed, flinging her hair back and striding out of there in victory.
Adrian remained there, his hands covering his face with a smile, "Welcome back, Princess."
