Amellia held herself back from rolling her eyes at Skye's words. What does she think of her? She wasn't Emily who loved stealing other things, if anything she wouldn't touch anything someone even eyed once. The wish to have Adrian as her lover was dead now.
"You sure you didn't dream of that? It's concerning seeing you dream such stuff for your sister's husband." Amellia politely answered. "If that's it, I am going inside. Keep your gift to yourself." Amellia rolled her eyes striding out of there.
Amellia tried to keep her head calm, her fingers curled into a fists as Sky's words repeated in her head. Second. Just because she sees this as a convenience doesn't mean she can be treated like a rug. Adrian had just walked out of the front door with Cynthia following like a dog eager for their owner's attention.
Amellia stood before Adrian and Cynthia. It took her every nerve to calm herself from doing something that she might end up regretting.
"Ready to go?" Adrian asked, buttoning his blazer and signalling one of the men to drive up the car.
Amellia forced out a smile, "It's not an official marriage yet. I prefer to stay at my own home."
Adrian kept quiet, grabbing her arm, "The papers are registered. It's official, princess. Bid your farewell and quietly take your seat in the car." Adrian whispered in her ears, pulling her afar from others.
"I will refuse your offer. My sense of marriage is a traditional wedding with people and bride and groom." Amellia kept the smile plastered on her face, trying to remove his fingers from her arms.
Adrian remained quiet, glancing back at her family. And before Amellia could even say a word, Adrian swiftly picked her up in his arms, carrying her towards his car.
Amellia tried to struggle until her eyes fell on Cynthia and others, gasping and waving at her. "What do you think you are doing?" Amellia gritted her teeth, shooting daggers in his direction.
Adrian remained quiet, putting her sit in the back seat and closing the door, while he stood outside, talking to James and Cynthia.
Amellia could leave the car but showing trouble in paradise wouldn't help. She needs a way out, being alone with a man like Adrian was dangerous. He wasn't the man who would agree just like that or was using him to get Skye. If it was a ploy, she would rather not indulge.
Before Amellia could make it, Adrain opened the car and sat down beside her. "Let me get my bags and important stuff. How about I stay here tonight and go tomorrow?" Amellia smiled, trying to argue out of the place. If she didn't need him, she would have killed him for such audacity.
"No need, I already prepared stuff." Adrian glanced at the driver, "To the Southam Castle."
Amellia went quiet upon hearing the name. Southam Castle…her birthplace and death place. There wasn't a moment important in her life she hadn't spent there. Suddenly the voices inside the car muffled down.
Memories that surrounded her all for twenty years of life. The crown ceremony to her first ball and to meeting her end.
"You know my favourite place in this castle is the lake." Amellia smiled, her bare feet brushing the dew-covered soft grass. Her blonde hair was tied up in a braid covered in freshly picked flowers as she glanced over her shoulder to look at the man.
"And our secret walks…" Amellia whispered to herself, turning her head, her porcelain cheeks flushed like freshly picked cherries.

"Are you listening to me?" Amellia almost jumped out, shaken out of her thoughts, as her vision got clear. Adrian looked at her; his eyes had some kind of concern for the first time: worry. Amellia cleared her throat creating space between them, "Pardon me. What were you saying?"
"Do you need something other than the essentials?" Adrian scanned her from top to bottom. "Suzy will take care of it." Adrian pointed towards the woman sitting in the passenger seat.
Amellia didn't even notice till now. The woman was dainty and short, if no one pointed she could be almost invisible. Amellia noticed how her dark hair was put into messy hair, she was wearing glasses but the dark circles were apparent.
"I do. Buy some humanity and use it on yourself. You are in desperate need of it." Amellia glared, regretting that she thought he was a man of hers. She and her taste and men need polishing.
Amellia could see Suzy's jaw drop, as he turned back to look at her, "I apologize, Miss Cooper if I did something to hurt you."
"Why are you apologizing? If anything you should stand up against money-hungry bosses. When did you eat last time?" Amellia threw daggers at Adrain before asking.
Amellia had nothing against workers who worked hardest. Her maids never took a break but even they didn't look sleep-deprived and thin. Poor women might die from exhaustion.
"Um.." Suzy was flushed, glancing at her boss wondering if she should answer her question or not. "Just earlier. You don't need to worry. Sir, treat us well." Suzy hesitantly answered.
"I can see how well he treats you ." Amellia nodded, not pressing on the matters further. "Cold-hearted buffoon," Amellia mumbled under her breath, looking out the window quietly.
Adrian kept acting like nothing while a smile plastered his face hearing her mumble under her breath.
