"Have Adrian's child out of wedlock. He hates bastards. What better way to ruin his life than making his child one."
Irene's words continued playing in Amellia's mind. Have a child out of wedlock. How much hatred did she have for Adrian?
"Eva, how is the turkey?" The question caught Amellia off guard as she glanced up to look at the woman across from her.
"It's good." Amellia exchanged a polite smile with her. The original Mrs. Cooper had dark hair and an air of arrogance.
"I've heard Hayden is not ready to take you back. If you want me to set you up for a blind date, I am here." Mrs. Cooper remarked, smiling and glancing at Cynthia sitting beside Amellia.
It didn't take a genius to figure out the cold war between Cynthia and Mrs. Cooper. Amellia remained quiet taking a sip from her wine while Cynthia didn't, "It's fine, Dorothy. You must be busy with your own daughter. Which reminds me, how was the blind date?" Cynthia remarked.
"You should ask me, not her." Amelia's head turned towards the direction, sitting beside Eva's father. Her dark curly flowing down her shoulder, some would think it was messy and chaotic, but that was exactly her signature. Amellia leaned back on her chair sipping on her wine waiting for the drama to unfold.
Cynthia smiled, "Well since you insist. How was it?"
Skye lazily took a bite of her food, "It wasn't for me. He did help me get a deal though. Harrison and I are going to work together on the Urban View project."
"The government one?" James Cooper who was only watching the drama unfold finally spoke up, with interest as his eldest daughter informed her.
"Yup. Adrian and I are signing the papers tomorrow." Skye responded, finishing her drink. "If you excuse me, I have a party to attend." Skye walked out.
Amellia finally understood, she was in Emily's place. How disgusting a place to be in and Sky was her. The heir to the corporation. If she wants to distinguish herself, she needs to get Adrian's support. Make the strongest your ally, not an enemy.
"I need to use the washroom if you excuse me." Amellia walks out of there, following the steps of Skye. Skye was another support she needed. She was the heir, if she wanted to ruin anything related to her sister she would need as much help as she could.
"Following me?" Skye jumped out in front of her from nowhere. Amellia smiled, "I would be discreet if I was following."
Skye snorted, leaning on the wall, her arms crossed, "What do you want?"
"Hmm, let's see the list is long. A mansion, a company to rule and let's see hmm… Adrian." Amellia played along finally coming to her case.
Skye gazed up, her eyes finally focused on her, "Adrian Harrison? Why has no one accepted you?"
"Nope, I just prefer the best. I don't want anything from Coopers, help me with this, I will stay away from your business." Amellia cleared up. It wasn't like she was making fake promises. It was Cynthia's side that was related to her traitor. Coopers had nothing to do with her. She just wants to see Cynthia and Eva lose everything that they took from her.
"And I should believe you? You being mistress rumours all over the place. I don't trust cheaters nor do Adrian." Skye walked away.
Amellia wasn't disappointed with how things turned out, Skye was exactly what Eva considered. Clear and straightforward. She knows office politics and can be scheming if things need to be in her favour.
Amellia was sure of one thing, Skye would inform Adrian about this and that's best of all he would know her words were not a joke. Inform the enemy about the war and let them lose sleep over the incoming war while you can enjoy your peace.
Amellia happily walked back to the table where it wasn't any longer a cold war but a full-on war. Dorothy and Cynthia arguing over something while James tried to play the middleman. That's why they say never let your wife and mistress be in the same place you are just waiting for war.
Amellia quietly sneaked out of there without garnering any attention from the three. She neither wishes to be part of or be there. She always preferred watching the war from afar, while enjoying the view of not being part of it.
Amellia walked out of the villa where the modern carriages or in Maria's language a car. No matter how much she adapts, something strange like this always pops up. Maria even showed her this thing called a phone, which we can use to send messages or talk to people at a distance. If only her father taught her to adapt to science which was on par with witchcraft.
"Young miss." Her chauffeur greeted her as Amellia sat down inside the car.

"How was the dinner?" Adrian reached the bar table pouring himself a drink.
"As usual, a hassle. Though I had found something interesting." Skye lay down on the couch behind him.
Adrian's hands stopped for a second before continuing to pour another drink. "Which is?" He inquired slowly, strolling back to Skye and offering one of the glasses.
Skye took the glass, taking a sip, "My little sister seems to like you."
Adrian sat down on the sofa beside hers, taking a sip of his drink and hiding away his smile, "She came to me asking earlier, wanting to be married."
Skye sat up straight, staring at him as if she had seen a ghost, "What did you say?"
"I refused." Adrian blatantly replied, shrugging it off.
"I never wanted to use this. You owe me. Marry her." Skye blatantly threatened.
"Why should I? Don't you know my rule?" Adrian narrowed his eyes at his friends among all people she never expected her to make such threats.
"I know why I never tried to be your matchmaker. But for the first time, my little sister asked for a favour and I can't deny it, right? After all, you owe me enough to accept it." Skye smiled, her voice calm and soft.
"You got the project in return. I owe you nothing." Adrian put down his glass, his voice low and looming with warning.
"You did but until then I didn't know about my sister's wishes. So go propose to her and make her the happiest wife. Don't they say, Happy wife, happy life?"
