Chapter 4 - East Coast Castle

Sean's POV

As Sean glided through the water, the familiar currents of the East Ocean wrapped around him like an embrace. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the surface, illuminating the path that led him back to his castle beneath the waves. The sound of the ocean was a soothing melody, but his thoughts were still consumed by the evening he had just spent with Savanna.

Her laughter echoed in his mind, a bright sound that seemed to dance on the water's surface. She was unlike anyone he had encountered before—a human with a spirit that sparkled just as vibrantly as the ocean around them. Her deep green eyes, reminiscent of the lush seaweed that swayed in the currents, had captivated him, holding an intensity that made him feel both seen and understood in a way he hadn't anticipated.

As he approached his castle, the grand structure rose from the ocean floor, adorned with coral and bioluminescent plants that shimmered softly in the dim light. He swam through the grand archway, and the familiar sight of his home welcomed him, the gentle sway of the water lapping against the stone walls. The castle felt alive, filled with the whispers of the sea and the faint glow of sea creatures going about their nightly routines.

He ascended to his chamber, the weight of his crown pressing lightly on his brow. As he settled onto a coral throne, he allowed himself to reflect on the connection he felt with Savanna. It was unusual for a king to form such bonds with humans, yet there was something about her that transcended the boundaries of their worlds.

Sean thought about the questions she had asked him, her genuine curiosity about the ocean and its mysteries. He had enjoyed sharing his world with her, revealing the beauty of the underwater realm that most humans only dreamed of. The way she looked at him, with a mix of awe and fascination, had ignited a sense of warmth within him that he hadn't felt in ages.

He gazed out of the large archway of his chamber, watching the waves ripple in the distance. As he contemplated the evening, Sean knew that this encounter would linger in his thoughts long after the moon had set. The world above and below, while separated by vast distances, felt a little closer now. With a soft sigh, he allowed himself to drift into thoughts of what this Friday might bring, knowing that the connection he had forged with Savanna was just the beginning of something extraordinary.

As I sat lost in thought, the gentle sound of the waves was interrupted by the familiar voice of my butler, Edwin. "Sire, I know it's rather late, but these documents urgently need your signature."

I looked up from my chair, the weight of my responsibilities settling back on my shoulders. "Sure, I'll get to it in a moment," I replied, trying to maintain a neutral tone despite the frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

The thought of Savanna lingered in my mind, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of impatience. Friday seemed so far away. I needed to see her again, to explore this connection that was beginning to take root. But for now, duty called. I sighed, pushing aside my personal thoughts as I reached for the stack of documents. The kingdom's affairs wouldn't wait, and neither would my responsibilities as king.
