Sean's POV
The day of our date had arrived, and as I carried out my usual duties, my mind drifted to Savanna. I could almost hear the sound of her breath, her voice dancing in my thoughts, and that beautiful laugh that echoed in my memory. I shifted through piles of paperwork with an urgency that reflected my internal turmoil, trying to push aside the distractions that threatened to derail my focus.
Time seemed to crawl, each tick of the clock amplifying my anticipation and anxiety. An idea struck me: I would need a boat for our outing to collect seashells. I wanted to take her somewhere beautiful, but we would have to venture quite a distance from the shore. I found myself questioning whether she could swim that far—would it be safe? My heart began to feel heavy as darker thoughts crept in. Was it wise to pursue this connection? How would it even work between us?
Maybe it would be better to let our one evening together remain just that—a fleeting moment. I shook my head, frustration bubbling within me. I couldn't dismiss the undeniable pull I felt toward her, like a riptide drawing me in. No one had ever made me feel this way before, and I was torn between caution and desire.
With a resolute decision, I called upon one of my knights, Klien, to search for a small paddle boat that had sunken to the ocean floor and to repair it for tonight. It was time to embrace this feeling, to take a leap of faith into our destiny.
Savanna's POV.
As I woke up early to prepare for the day, I slipped into some maroon tights and a sleek black tank top, tying my hair into a high ponytail. I had planned to go for my morning run, hoping to catch a glimpse of Sean before my morning class. After an extra long jog along the shore, I returned home, ready to change out of my sweaty clothes. I opted for black skinny jeans, a blue and white floral low-cut top, and my ECU sweatshirt.
Seeing that Natali was still asleep at 7 AM—when we both needed to be in the art studio by 8—I decided to wake her up. "What time is it?" she whined, groggy and half-asleep. I lied andtold her it was almost 8. She jumped out of bed in a rush, quickly throwing on some black tights and a mustard yellow t-shirt dress.
I raised an eyebrow at her choice. "Um, Nat, are you sure about that?" Her nose wrinkled in disgust. "I haven't done laundry in days. It's all I've got," she sighed. I rummaged through my side of the room and pulled out a simple tank dress adorned with gold-trimmed black roses and black thorns. I handed it to her, "Here, but I want it back when you do laundry."
"Thanks, Savanna! Outfit crisis averted!" Nat exclaimed, giving me a quick hug. Once she was ready, we headed to grab a quick bite to eat at the cafeteria, conveniently located right next to our studio art class.
As we ate, my mind drifted back to Sean. I couldn't shake the nervousness about our date tonight, particularly about what to wear. Thankfully, Molly and Brooke were bringing over some swimsuit options they had, which would hopefully make the decision a little easier. After our business into class was over we headed straight to my dorm.
I sat on my bed, mulling over swimsuit options with Molly and Brooke, the atmosphere was filled with excitement. Molly held up a nearly sheer black swimsuit bottom, her voice dripping with mischief as she exclaimed, "How about this!"
I shrieked in response, "NO WAY! I'm not wearing that." Brooke giggled, clearly amused by the suggestion. I then reached for a deep green one-piece that dipped at the neckline, accentuating some cleavage and narrowing at the bottom to show off a bit more of my butt cheeks. It had a few false emerald rhinestones scattered throughout the front, complemented by silver waves lining my breasts I also grabbed a sheer white cover-up that opened in the front. It was strange getting ready for a first date in just a swimsuit.
The girls let out approving whistles as I turned to show off what I put on. Brooke added, "Don't worry about shoes; you won't need them. Molly and I packed all the essentials, including some snacks, in your beach bag." She winked. Then Molly presented me with a new waterproof case for my phone. "Make sure to get sweet pictures of that merman of yours," she teased.
I felt my cheeks heat up at the comment. "He's not mine," I replied shyly.
"Yet! Now go!" they both urged in unison, pushing me out of my dorm room. I couldn't help but smile at their enthusiasm as I headed out, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves for the evening ahead.
