After the debacle with the irrational noble, Hagan and Raaz went to a secret area to talk about their actual business.
"So, now that we've taken care of Eric, let's talk about your reward. You can either take money or information… are you going to ask for information again?"
"Yes, I need information on the Gods."
Raaz lowered his head and sighed, bringing a hand to his temple.
Hagan has completed 76 jobs so far, and he's only chosen money as his reward 3 times. Although the money was nothing to laugh at, it was still appalling that someone wanted information on dead deities so bad.
"Alright, alright. You're in luck today my dear shadow. I've received word that there is an artifact of a God being sold in the Black Market tonight. I'll give pay for it so don't lose. Got it?"
A small flame lit up in Hagan's soul and a small smile appeared on his face. After months in nothing other than useless scriptures or outright lies about the Gods, he was going to get an artifact, something left behind one of them. He'd finally be able to make progress towards uncovering their secrets, whether it be harrowing or reverent, he didn't know.
"Yes sir!"
Hagan turned and started to stride pridefully but was stopped in his tracks. He slowly turned and smiled at Raaz in an odd manner.
"… How do I get there, exactly."
The next few hours were quite eventful, Raaz had brought Hagan to an expensive store to buy a suit, then he brought him to a Tailor to have the suit fitted and adorned with the unnecessarily intricate and expensive jewelry that Raaz had picked out.
Once done there, they went to another store just down the street to get a mask. Hagan told Raaz he already had a mask that nobody would recognize with but left out the fact that it of the Divine rank, sharing that would probably have unpleasant repercussions.
Once the sun began to set, Raaz and Hagan were in a carriage headed to a fancy boutique. It was a large two story building, it was a sleek gray with white marble supports. The inside had black marble walls, pale pink carpeting, and had many dresses and other trinkets on display. Raaz guided a young man wearing an intricate black suit with gold buttons and trim, he had a fierce mask that seemed to depict a demon with four fangs.
They approached a young man standing behind a desk and showed him a pocket watch, inside was a picture of a tall tree in a forest, above it was a full moon.
"Esteemed guests, welcome to The Marbel, if you go to your left and enter the door at the end of the hall, you will find what your looking for."
They followed the clerks orders and walked down a hallway that was filled with expensive paintings, fancy ornaments, and a few sets of armor that Hagan was unsure if they had any inhabitants. They reached the entrance and opened it, inside was a large auditorium, it seemed to be about halfway full and a servant greeted them.
"Welcome, we hope you find what you're looking for. If you'll follow me I'll show you to your seats.
We have an assortment of various items for sale every week here. If you're looking for something that you lost, you want, or it can't be procured anywhere near, I'm sure you'll find it here."
They arrived at their seats which were situated front and center.
"Our first item is this! A device capable of…"
