As Hagan finished off the first of the Demon Spawns, he hurriedly turned and prepared for the next beast to pounce on him.
This time however, the beast slowed as it approached and the two locked eyes. The beat began walking left and so did Hagan. Between the two, there were a few trees that obscured the view. Since the Demon wolf's body was rather large, Hagan could see a part of it as opposed to Hagan's small human body completely disappearing from view for a few short moments.
Hagan had realized this as the beast seemed to speed its pace to peer around the trees, using this to his advantage, the next hike Hagan disappeared from view, he used his shadow teleportation the appear right next to the tree. Simultaneously, he summoned the light sword and exposed it to the wolf's view. He then focused and activated the [Flash] enchantment on the sword and thrust it into the ground. He then used his shadow teleportation again and appeared behind the frightening beast as its shadow it cast was more than large enough to allow Hagan to appear in it.
Hagan quickly thrusted the sword through the beasts neck and pulled down, slicing the lower half open, allowing a river of detestable, black blood to flow out from the mortal wound. Hagan watched as the liquid was hitting the forest floor, seeping into the soil while also drawing close to his feet. Before it reached him, he stepped back and the female voice once again spoke to him.
"You have purified the lands. You have slain a Tier 3 Basic Demon Spawn."
By now, the last wolf was about thirty second away from Hagan so, he had a small moment of respite to gather his thoughts and find a way to ambush the beast. Hoping to get even a few more moments of relief, Hagan summoned his [Mask of "…"] and pushed his focus into remaining hidden.
After, he noticed the wolf slowed its advance but continued forward. Using this he stepped out from a nearby shadow that was cast by a tree leaning against another that was bound to fall soon, perhaps within a week as it was constantly groaning and splintering slightly.
As the creature drew near, Hagan came to a sudden, fear-inducing realization. The last wolf was much larger than the other, once it was in view, he saw it had pure gray fur, dreadful and bright red eyes, and a menacing, invisible aura that screamed power. Immediately, Hagan began to sprint in the opposite direction, the wolf had heard Hagan as he was no longer careful to avoid the weak twigs that littered the forest floor.
Hagan ran in a straight line, seldomly having to correct his path due to trees blocking the way. Hagan ran for several minutes before his unkept bodies stamina failed him. He stopped, hid behind a tree and started catching his breath.
Still hidden by his Divine mask, Hagan sensed the beast drawing closer but slowing once again and searching left and right for a glimpse of Hagan. Suddenly the beast noticed a silver greave protruding from behind a tree about ten meters away.
The beast lowered itself and slowly crawled forward avoiding making any noise at it did so. The wolf was now just a few meters away and lowered itself more, getting ready to pounce on its prey hiding behind the tree.
Then, a gray blurry image streaked across the forest floor and the red tree exploded into a storm of splinters, the owner of the silver greave behind the tree was immediately reduced to the same small chunks of flesh as well.
