Ivonne's POV
"Luna?" The voice of Lora called at the door followed by a knock. "The Alpha is ready and honking downstairs."
"Well he should hold his damn horses," I yelled back in irritation, partly because of the thought of staying in the same car with Lincoln annoyed me and the fact the hair clip I was striving to put in place was not sticking. "I'll be down soon."
"You need my help?" She questioned, a tad worried at my tone I presumed.
"Not really," I answered, trying again with the black rose designed hair clip which was the same shade as the black off-the-shoulder- black dress which flowed front waist down in ruffled steps to halt at my knees.
"Finally," I exhaled as I turned my back to the mirror and peered over my shoulder to observe it was in order just the way it should.
Whirling around, I smiled at my reflection and picked up my red designer bag from the vanity table. It was the only colorful thing about my outfit hence my dress and heels were all black.
I decided to go all black hence in the literal sense I was putting an end to a miserable chapter of my life. Though I felt relief, I mourned the situation and decided to look the part.
Giving myself one last appraisal in the mirror, I strutted to the exit and opened the door, walking out of my room. The sound of the barrier shutting, caught Lora's attention and she couldn't hold in a gasp which made me chuckle.
"Let's go Lora," I smiled and she granted me a worried glance like she had been doing after Lincoln talked about finalizing our divorce in her presence.
To my astonishment she burst out in tears once we entered the luckily empty kitchen and I ended up being the one to console her instead of the other way round.
I felt touched despite the fact I was laughing while I patted her back. After she had calmed down she said she understood my words about leaving and promised to stick to me like a glue for the rest of my life.
"Stop staring Lora, I'm fine," I assured and began strolling toward the stairs. It didn't take seconds for her to catch up with me in her 2 inch black heels she wore beneath a simple brown dress that halted a centimeter below her knees. "He's packed outside right?"
Another series of honks answered before Lora did and we both shrugged, descending the stairs. We crossed the bottom hall and approached the grand entrance which led to outside the pack house.
I instantly spotted Lincoln's car with him and Allison leaning on it or should I say stuffing their tongues down each other's throats. The thought that they didn't care what anyone said or concluded about them irked me but I brushed it off as it was no longer my business.
"Took you long enough," Lincoln gritted as he took note of my presence and slowly brought down Allison's arms from their position on his shoulder.
"You should thank me," I snorted, gesturing to where they stood, blocking the passenger door. "At least I gave you more time to frolick with her, ain't that right Allison?"
"I guess that's true," she smiled sweetly, her eyes shooting daggers. Shifting away from Lincoln, she wandered toward me in tight shorts and a blue t-shirt. "Hurry on and get that divorce out of the way."
"Oh we will," I granted her a smile of mine as she strolled past me. "See you when we get back. I promise to return him as a single man."
"That would be a pleasure," she sneered and I winked at her, causing her mouth to gape and me chuckle hence I was certain she didn't expect such reaction and attitude from me.
"Can we go now?" I asked Lincoln who was watching me like I had grown 2 heads. He bobbed his head silently and walked round the car in a navy colored suit and slacks, white shirt underneath. "Thank you."
He climbed into the vehicle and I did same. The engine starting and in seconds he was steering the car toward the main roads while I struggled to get the seatbelt in place.
"No," I muttered in refusal as he offered me a look that said, "can I help?"
He respected my decision and faced his vision back on the roads. I secured the belt in place and angled my gaze to the window, pressing a button to bring down the glass and let the morning breeze blow my face and hair.
The car ride was silent as no conversation was being exchanged. I wasn't ready to innitiate one and I was sure he wasn't prepared for that either.
He didn't even bother to turn on the radio, making the air a bit tense, however I didn't care as I wanted us to arrive quickly at the attorneys office and get things over with.
We arrived the establishment and I unlocked my door before he turned off the ignition and climbed out, needing a break from the uncomfortable space.
He climbed out soon after, offered me a questioning glimpse which I ignored and strutted beside him to the entrance. We walked inside and he led me to the right pathway and soon we halted at a door.
We waited as he knocked and listened for permission, after which we proceeded inside to meet a dark skinned man in a suit and seated behind a small desk stand to give us a bow in acknowledgement, "please have a seat."
"Can we go straight to the point of why we are here?" Lincoln suggested in a question and the man bobbed his head in understanding while I quietly settled in a chair.
"Of course," the man said and fiddled with the side of his desk and placed a brown envelope in front of us. "Here it is."
We both remained silent which he took as his cue to begin. "So as you know this is a—-"
I drowned him out not willing to dive into the details thus it all came down to one thing. My bag started vibrating minutes later and the men turned to me, question in their eyes.
Forcing a smile I reached into the bag and as we thought, it was my phone. I fished it out and raised a brow of surprise at the caller ID. 'Tobias'
I sharply turned my face to the right where Lincoln was seated and gladly he wasn't staring at the device. Not that I was scared or anything because I was not doing any wrong. Heck I was there to finalize my divorce so I could do whatever I pleased.
When I noticed that, I easily put my phone on silent and changed it from vibrating hence it was improper for it to continue making noise while a serious matter was playing out.
The man continued to speak and Lincoln nodded every now and then. It seemed they didn't bother to include me and I didn't bother to be included either.
If anything I wanted to be legally divorced and free from the misery I'd been locked in those past years. As I sat there I felt the urge to laugh at how stupid I'd been and what a disgrace I was to females out there with the way I hung around Lincoln and begged him regardless of the fact that he had made it clear for a while I wasn't wanted.
"So about the splitting of assets, you agreed you won't be taking anything right?" The attorney asked catching my attention.
