Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Ivonne's POV

Tobias materialized from the left corner of the car, dressed in top tier designer outfit of a black long-sleeved chiffon shirt and slacks of the same material and style.

His domineering figure stood a few inches away from us as he came to a halt, sunshade pushing his dark curls away from his handsome face which he tilted to the side as his stare scanned our forms before they rested on me.

"What bring you Alpha Tobias?" Lincoln implores in a clipped tone as he gave a small bow of respect. They both shared the same ranks nonetheless Tobias was older which earned him respect from the younger Alpha.

"I'm here to take her," he revealed and my brows shot up while his gaze remained on me and a smirk curved his lips at my expression.

"Who?" Allison interrogated, coming off as irritated and surprised at the same time.

"I wasn't speaking to you lady," Tobias shunned, blue eyes shifting from my face to fire her a glare.

"Who are you here for?" Lincoln quizzed in a quiet tone though one could sense an underlying tinge of anger at the manner he answered Allison and his whole presence in general.

"Ivonne," he informed and walked over to clamp my hands in his. "Nobody else."

"Why?" Lincoln questioned, eyes about to fall of their sockets as they switched between our held hands and my face. "What business do you have together?"

"Trying to sound as polite as I can," Tobias turned to him, smirk still lining his lips. "But I can't because it's none of your business."

"What?" Lincoln queried in a much louder voice as to earlier.

"Was that all?" Tobias asked but I didn't hear him hence I was trying to process what was happening, why he was there and how he knew exactly what was happening.

"Ivonne?"

"Sorry," I said, getting back to my conscious state. "I didn't quite get you." "Is that all of your things?" He interrogated, pointing at the car.

"Yes that's all," I revealed.

"Let's go then," he declared and dragged me toward the large vehicle. "Wait up," I said and turned behind. "Lora, come with me."

Tobias raised a brow at me in question and I felt the need to explain. "She's my personal maid and friend, I can't go anywhere without her."

"Okay," he bobbed his head in understanding and gestured toward where she stood, her expression still one of shock as she observed everything unfold right in front of her very eyes. "Any friend of Ivonne is welcome to join us."

"Come Lora, don't be scared," I urged her with a reassuring smile when she didn't move. "He's a friend not a foe."

"I can be any you please," Tobias said in a straight tone, his expression light, however his blue eyes sharp.

His words somehow spurred Lora into action as she gulped and took quick steps to the car, walking past us and immediately pulling back door open to climb inward.

My mouth gaped in surprise while Tobias chuckled and trudged in curt strides to open the passenger side. I shook my head, smiling slightly and jumped in for him to shut it after.

I watched him walk around the hood of the car to the driver's side and entered, starting the engine and setting the car in emotion instantly to steer out of the pack house entrance.

The car ride was silent as we drove on the pack roads that led out of the blood pack. Minutes passed as I peered out of my window, a question on my tongue that I was pondering on the best way to say it without coming off as ungrateful or rude.

I could sense Lora burn a hole into the back of my head as much as she was doing to Tobias. She was the most confused among the both of us and I didn't blame her.

"How did you know?" I finally summoned the guts to ask as I adjusted my posture such that my face and body was turned in his direction and no longer the window.

"Explain," he murmured as he spared me a glance which lasted barely a second.

"I mean," I started slowly. "How did you know I was inclined to leave the pack house. "Oh," he let out a snort. "I have my ways."

"Your ways must be really deep and informative," I spoke dragging out the sentence. "Very informative for you to know the exact day and time to show up just as I was rolling out my luggage."

"I guess," he said in a nonchalant manner and sent me a small smile and narrowed my eyes at him in suspicion, wondering who was feeding him my information. "Why the look?"

"Who was it?" I implored and his response was to raise a brow at me. "You planted someone as my spy so tell me, who was it?"

"I didn't plant a spy on you," he scoffed and focused on the road as he made a turn that would bring us out of the Blood pack and begin our journey to his. "I just have people who tell me things."

"Not just a person but people." I nodded slowly, absorbing the revelation.

"Don't worry, with time you'll know them," he told and horned at a van blocking our way while driving at a slow pace. "You'll also know the level of control and power I have over the land."

For some reason, I felt a shiver run down my spine as his voice held dominance and I sense power pulse around him, his Alpha aura brought to the surface in such moment. I won't lie, his was more on a higher level than Lincoln's, not that I was comparing.

We had arrived at Tobias's pack some minutes later and had proceeded into the house. Lora had an open mouthed expression once her vision met with the interior and I smiled hence I'd experienced it.

"This is Lora's room," he explained as he shoved open a door which led us into a nicely furnished blue painted room. A single bed sat at the center of the space, a wardrobe to the right and mirror to our left. "You can freshen up here."

"What about my room?" I quizzed, my brown eyes diverting from the mirror to him.

"I'll show you later," he assured and exited the room. "For now I believe you two have something to discuss."

"What is going on?" Lora didn't waste a moment to ask after the door was shut. "Why is Alpha Tobias helping us despite being an enemy of the pack?"

I was silent as I covered the space to the bed and discarded my shoes, breathing a sigh of relief as my feet met the soft furcarpet under me.

"As your personal servant I know I have no right to ask," she murmured in a sigh. "However as a concerned friend who is trying to grasp the situation, it'll be kind enough to fill me in on what exactly is going on."

"It's a long story Lora," I said in a sigh of mine not knowing where to start.

"My ears are ready to listen," she declared, lowering her body in a sqauting position so our faces could be on the same level with each other.

"Do you want the truth or the twisted truth?" I interrogated deciding to go with her choice. "The real truth," she chose.

"Okay," I bobbed my head and inhaled a deep breath which I exhaled with my answer. "I'll be Tobias's wife soon and the Luna of this pack."
