Tobias POV
I observed her reaction after my words and her lips curled in a small smile. A bit of relief flashed through her soft brown eyes and I tilted my head a bit to side at the realization she was a bit worried about everything.
"Okay," she responded and picked up the last slice of bread on her plate prepped with eggs and ham. Biting a bit if it she asked. "Can I get a few details about what you plan to discuss with them?"
"There's no much details to it," I declared in a shrug which made her lift a brow at my action while she chewed. "I'll just inform them about the fact I chose you as my second chance mate and we'd be getting married and mated soon."
Her mouth stopped moving for a few seconds, I watched her expression go blank as her brain seemed to process my words. It didn't take long for her eyes to widen and she tried to speak but ended up choking instead.
"Calm down dear," I said, sounding amused as I tried to hold in a laugh while she dropped whatever was left of the slice on the plate.
She pushed the plate away or should I say toward me and hastily grabbed her half filled glass of orange juice and gulped it down as if her life depended on it, her eyes blood shot as her chest rose and fell in rapid breaths.
My blue eyes was glued for a moment to the perky nipples that peeked through the brown top she had on above red loose shorts. I felt a heated gaze and redirected my stare upwards to meet her brown eyes which now had a bit of spark in them.
"What?" I implored, acting utterly clueless at the message in her eyes.
"Are you just gonna lay it all out like that?" She implored, calming down from her fit.
"That's how I do things," I slid her plate closer to me and swiped whatever's left into my mouth to her surprise. I swallowed and went on to say. "It's the truth after all, why beat around the bush before going straight to the point?"
"I didn't mean it that way it's just—" she started but sighed halfway. "Won't it cause a few problems or something of the sort for you and the council?"
"Like I said Ivonne," I leaned back in my seat, my posture appearing relaxed and unbothered. "You don't need to worry about it."
"What if I can't stop myself from worrying like I'm doing now?" She raised a question, her brow furrowing in concern at my behavior. "Also you seem too relaxed, it makes me hesitant to trust your words."
"It's because I am relaxed Ivonne," I stated the obvious, my sharp blue eyes fixed on her facial features. "Also at this point you have no option but to trust me."
She inhaled a deep breath as she took in my words before slowly bobbing her head in affirmation. "True."
"Exactly," I declared. "So when I say I have things planned out, I'll need you to give me the slightest bit of trust you can muster."
"I know trusting is difficult for you at this point because of what you've been through," I continued, making sure to capture her attention by connecting our gazes in an intense stare.
"I also know trust is not given but earned and I'd need to work to earn yours," I explained. "However at this point I'll appreciate a benefit of doubt while I try my best to keep to my words okay?"
She was silent for a while and I smiled as I observed her appear to be taken aback by my utterance. Heck I even surprised myself as I didn't expect to go so deep with my words, nevertheless I was glad I said them and would never take it back even if the opportunity was granted to me.
"Okay?" I questioned when no answer came from her. I waited for some seconds and she finally gave a reaction by nodding. "Feel free to roam the pack grounds and get accustomed to your new environment."
"Is that allowed?" She implored to my surprise.
"Of course it is," I gave a dry chuckle. "It'll be your new home anyway."
"You are right," she let out, her voice sounding faraway as if everything was gradually starting to set in.
"Yes," I mumbled. "Take Lora with you to keep you company. I'd instruct one of my guards to accompany you and the others to keep an eye out in case of trouble."
"Thank you Tobias," she said when I was done speaking, her tone genuine and fondness in her brown eyes. "Really, thank you."
"You are welcome," I appreciated. "We are in this together, so thank you too."

Fixing the gold cufflinks on the wrists of the white, crisp designer shirt I had on, I strode allong the vast hallway of the grand pack house toward the door that opened up to the large conference room where the day's meeting would be held.
Jarvis my beta trudged beside me on my left. He was dressed in a long sleeved red vest, a black leather jacket and jeans. In powerful strides it took barely seconds before my long legs which were in well tailored blue slacks that went with my shiny black shoes to reach the door.
Without knocking, I pushed it open and trudged in, halting as I took in the state of the room. Lifting a brow I angled my head in Jarvis's direction who seemed as shocked as I was. "Why is the room empty?"
"I have no idea what's going on Alpha I just—"
His statement was cut short as the door behind us screeched and in walked Damian, the head of the elders, dressed in the signature attire of a kaftan, his was black with gold threads at the ends while the others were black with white threads. "You are here."
"I am," I replied in a clipped tone, my blue eyes on him as he shuffled in, the others behind him. "I was about questioning your whereabouts."
At my response he diverted his gaze as he pulled out a seat for himself. Turning away from them as they all found seats, I climbed to the stage where mine was and got settled, waiting for the head warriors, kindred/street leaders and the young men and women of the delegative council.
"I'm certain by now a few words or should I say rumors have been passing around about a new presence in the pack and my mansion," I went straight to the point, making sure to look each and every of them in the eye as my gaze swept around the room.
"A few of you are curious," I stated the obvious in a knowing smile. "I see it in your eyes."
"Yes Alpha," Cohen a kindred leader spoke. "We are indeed curious. Is it true she is the L—"
"Luna of the blood pack?" I finished his question for him and he bobbed his head in response. "Yes, she is."
"Then what is she doing here, in your home at that?" Gwendolyn a female leader interrogated. "We agree you are an unmarked Alpha and would some times need the comfort of a woman, however it is not right to have an affair with a Luna of a pack when her mate and Alpha is still alive."
"I appreciate your concern," I uttered, scratching a brow with my index finger as I stared at her. "Nonetheless that lady you see is no longer the wife to Lincoln and she has been relieved off her duties as the Luna."
"What?"
"How?"
"When?"
"Why?" These questions sprung up in the crowd but I paid them no heed.
"Further explanations will be given later," I announced. "Meanwhile I want you all to know in a little while she'd be my wife and the Luna of this pack."
