Ivonne's POV
His words that night was the assurance I didn't know I needed as all my worries disappeared like a fog. I was so overwhelmed that I didn't even utter a word throughout the time I washed away the blood and picked out the glass pieces from the skin of his palm.
My head remained bent as I did what I had to do while I could feel his gaze burning into the side of my face. There was a slight tension in the air as the skin of our hands brushed every now and then.
The tingly sensation spreading all through my veins even after I was done. He murmured a thanks in a voice that came off as amused and at the same time intrigued.
Nonetheless I didn't allow myself give into the urge to stare at his face to see if his expression matched his stone. Rather I simply packed up the bowl and water and returned to the kitchen.
I expected him to follow me and was a bit disappointed when he didn't and instead remained in his sit when I came back to the living room.
With my head still bowed I cleared up the table and bid him goodnight before escaping to my room, his blue eyes glued to my back as I departed.
A day went by and it was a Sunday. Tobias would be home all day as he had informed Lora and I during breakfast and I could visibly see the color drain from my servant and friend's face.
It was almost afternoon and I hadn't heard anything from her neither had she left her room which was expected. I honestly prayed she overcame her fear for him and tried to at least feel a bit at ease in his presence.
Which was why as I stretched the the off the shoulder red blouse down to cover my navel, I decided to go spend time with her before I went down to Tobias's study for our discussion.
He had also told me during breakfast I should show up whenever I was ready to talk about how everything would unfold. I knew it was time to take the next step hence he had already informed the elders and his pack dignitaries about my presence and what it meant.
Nonetheless I was not sure of the next step he had in mind which was why I was a bit anxious about what he had decided to do next. We had agreed to get married however I didn't know how soon he wanted it to happen or what actions needed to be taken before that.
Picking up my phone, my long legs which were displayed through the short black print skirt I had on led me to exit my room and directly toward Lora's room.
At her door I could heed the sound of a game coming from within which made me smile at the fact she had something to keep her busy. I had pleaded with Tobias to get her one the previous day.
He didn't waste time to oblige my request as Garrett came an hour later with a new phone still in the carton and fresh from the hardware store close by.
To say Lora was delighted would be an understatement as she jumped on me in glee. I chuckled at her joy while at the same reminded her to thank the main source.
It was a hassle for her to murmur a simple 'thank you' to Tobias at breakfast and I strived hard to hold on my laugh only to release it after she left the dining area and ran up the stairs to her room where she remained till I arrived her door in a bid to seek her out.
My fingers forming a fist, I lifted it to knock on her door when I thought otherwise. It was already mid afternoon, I should simply let her have her time with the new device and relax.
I dropped my hand and did a 180• my back to her room as I concluded it'd be a good decision to go meet with Tobias and listen to what he had to fill me on.
At least that way I would be able to fill her in on the happenings and keep her up to date with what was to come after I was done with him.
My flip flop clad feet met with marble tiles as I traced my way to the down floor and paused in the living room a bit confused on which way to go thus I had never been to his study.
"Garr—" I wanted to call out for the guard only to decide against it as I angled my body toward my right. I knew the left side had the dining area and kitchen with a visitors bathroom while I was clueless about the right corner.
Taking cautious steps, I reached a large piano which sat in the wide space, its body sleek and shiny and for a moment I pondered on if it was ever used.
I couldn't resist the urge as I ran my finger along the smooth surface, a smile on my lips as I imagined Tobias sitting on it to play a tune. In my exploration my vision caught sight of a door it was the only door on that side of the space and I instantly knew it was the study.
Covering the little distance I knocked on the barrier and announced. "It's Ivonne."
"Come in," his unmistakable voice declared and I wrapped my fingers around the handle and twisted it.
Whatever image I had in my head, I didn't expect him to be slouched on a couch as my brown eyes met an empty seat behind a large polished mahogany desk and scanned the room to spot him relaxed on a plush cushion wrapped with a yellow leather.
His study was more colorful than I thought as it had light blue painted walls, a long and wide shelf that occupied the left side of the room. Different genres of books and colors of book covers filling it up.
A brown carpet below my feet and white bulb illuminating the space. He smiled and motioned me over to the empty part of the couch as his body which was encased in a simple brown shirt and black shorts was on the other end, "come sit."
"I'm here, so fill me in," I went straight to the point as I got seated, my anxiety getting the best of me as I didn't want to wait any longer.
He cocked his head to the side in wonder at my utterance but didn't comment on it as he went ahead to say. "As you well know I held a meeting with the pack dignitaries and informed them of what your presence is all about."
"I know." I bobbed my head as I clamped my fingers in my lap, the action causing his blue eyes to dart to my legs or basically my thighs as the skirt rode up due to my posture. They lingered for moments and I cleared my throat. "Were there any objections?"
"Yes they were," he answered and I felt dread crawl up my insides. "Nonetheless I informed them I was the Alpha and my decision stands."
"Isn't that like imposing your decision on them?" I asked.
"It may seem so," he didn't deny my subtle accusation. "But they know me to be a wise Alpha who never makes the wrong decisions."
"I just hope I won't be the first wrong decision you'd make," I murmured under my breath in the hope that he wouldn't hear me.
"You won't," he spoke, shocking me. "Also this is an official notice about our wedding which will be held in six days."
