Ivonne's POV
It had been a week since the wedding and inauguration ceremony. After my steamy night with Tobias, we hadn't made a move on each other which was surprising and at the same time welcome on my behalf.
The pack had given us a few days off in regards to a honey moon or whatever people refered it to these days. However I saw no need for that thus it was a deal we had come to terms with and so there was no much lovey dovey feeling.
It was no secret between us that we had a kind of cute understanding and intense attraction which showed itself the night of the wedding, nonetheless I couldn't shake over the familiar feeling I got during our sexual escapades.
Flashes of a naked man had been appearing in my vision since then and I wasn't sure if I was too hung up on Tobias's dick that I wanted more or if I was getting flashes of the time I had with Lincoln.
It was all a mess in my head, nonetheless I was glad I had left Lincoln's shackles and the shock on he and Allison's face was enough reward to last a life time. If not for anything but just that I was grateful for Tobias's involvement.
Earlier in the week, I got a call from the hospital that my mother was doing well and even asked of me. The joy that fueled my heart after was what made it all clear I had made the right choice in agreeing to the marriage.
Heaven knew I was never against the idea of being with Tobias, it was scary yes and I was doubtful, especially with my big secret which he wasn't yet aware of, nonetheless I had much to gain and decided to play my cards right.
Speaking of, it appeared as if Tobias had been avoiding me. He always seemed to be nowhere be found when I retired for the night and was always out of the bed when I woke up.
At a point I wondered if he even slept on the same bed with me, but I scraped away the thought hence I always felt the bed dip and his slight touch on his face or my hair faintly when he came to lay down beside me.
Even in my hazy state I felt the attraction strongly and would have jumped his bones if I didn't have a strong will. Just like the last three days, he was gone as I woke that morning.
Simply brushing it off, I had my bath and was getting ready for the day. It was a Monday and so I needed to start taking up my official pack duties as the Luna.
I was to meet up with a few representatives of all the mated females of the moon pack as well as the female kindred/street leaders and the wires of the male kindred/street leaders.
The sun was already up in the sky and the clock read 10:33 am. The meeting was to be held by 11 am at the pack house and I couldn't afford to be late.
I adjusted the string on my shoulders, making sure they were in a perfect horizontal bow. which was part of the sleeves of the blouse I had on.
The blouse was red in color and in a body fitting style with breast cups that had no need for a bra. It had a long sleeve that began an inch or two below the bicep till the wrists and strings on the shoulders to hold the blouse or specifically my breasts in place.
It was among the many new clothes I had discovered in my side of Tobias's closet the day after the wedding. My old clothes were there but only a few.
As for the rest of them? I had no idea. I thought Lora would know but she too was clueless, same as the guards at the entrance and a few of the maids who showed up at the mansion to keep the place neat and run errands.
It had me thinking if Tobias had discarded them off himself which was absurd that I ended up laughing. The blouse was coupled with black ironed slacks that was tight on the waist and hip area of my body while it flowed freely to my ankles after.
My hair was in a knot atop my head, a touch of lip gloss, eyeliner and red heels made me take a step back to peer at my reflection in the mirror. A frown appeared on my brow as I wondered if I was dressed too formal.
Shrugging, I let the intrusive thought go thus there was no way I could begin changing as the clock indicated I had barely 15 minutes left to show up before I was marked as rude.
"Luna?" I heard a voice and a knock on the door.
"Coming," I called out and bent slightly to pick up my phone from the mattress and strut in the three inch heels to unlock the door and shove it open, stepping out to meet her with a smile. "I'm ready."
She beamed at me. "You look amazing Luna."
"Thank you Lora," I grinned in appreciation and let her lead the way. She was dressed in a green patterned floral dress with a simple neckline and short sleeves.
We descended the stairs and crossed the living room space to the exit doors where I was surprised to see two other maids whom I'd seen around a few times and didn't know their name.
"We were assigned by the Alpha to be of service to you as of today," the filled me in before I could ask, probably reading my confused expression.
"I don't think that would be necessary my darlings," I declined politely. I had never had much people follow me around even back at the blood pack so I saw no reason to start now. "Lora is okay for me."
To my shock they smiled, eyed holding amusement. "The Alpha said we should ignore you if you said that."
"Oh," I let out, my cheeks flushing and a sigh of exasperation leaving my lips as I noticed Garrett snort and Lora look away. "Well if he did I have no say right?"
"You could try but only with the Alpha and not us," they answered honestly and wisely. They really did know and understood their Alpha well.
"In that case, we should get going then," I inhaled a deep breath in a bid to calm myself as my blood began to boil.
Not wasting another second, I put one foot in front of the other and traced my path to the pack house which was basically a stone throw away from Tobias's residence.
Each step I took did nothing to ease the anger which had sparked up, if anything it increased it. To be honest I had no reason to be angry hence it appeared he was looking out for me and made sure I needed extra help for emergencies.
Rather if I listened to the tiny voice in my head, the cause for my anger was due to the fact he had been almost invisible around me, therefore he should have continued to be, not to end up being concerned when he pretended not to be.
The moment I walked into the pack house, I had no second to admire thr elegant hall that covered the whole down floor of the three storied building, instead my gaze fished for any sign of the said Alpha.
