Ivonne's POV
I narrowed my lids at him and diverted my gaze to Lincoln who made a sound in his throat and avoided eye contact. Letting out a scoff, I shook my head from side to side slowly.
To say the truth I never really wanted anything from the lying and cheating bastard beside me, however it still came as a shock that he didn't once consider offering me any assets or maybe money as alimony.
"Or do you?" The dark skinned man asked, observing my reaction and Lincoln's. "If you do, we can do something about it right now."
"No it's fine," I laughed, the sound lacking humor. "I don't want anything."
"Are you sure about that?" He inquired, his gaze shifting between his Alpha and soon to be Ex Luna.
"I am," I nodded for emphasis. "It only amazed me that's all."
"Didn't you both discuss this before sending over the terms?" He implored, coming off as shocked himself.
"Would I be surprised if we had?" I asked in a scoff and he sent Lincoln the tiniest glare he could muster which wouldn't get him fired or worse killed for the disrespect.
"We can reschedule Luna if you need to discuss more with the Alpha," he went on to say, sounding remorseful and kind. "I really apologize for the—"
"It's fine," I waved a palm in the air. "I really don't need anything, so can we go ahead to sign?"
"Yes you can," he permitted and held out a pen he retrieved from inside a thick book. "Who's going first?"
"I'll go f—" the flashing of my phone's screen had me pause my statement and peer at it, the men copying my actions. It was none other than Tobias. My eyebrows squeezed a bit as I wondered why he was calling me.
"Are you signing or should I?" Lincoln questioned in a clip tone which had me diverting my focus from the device to his scrunched up facial features and then back at the document in my view.
"Sorry," I murmured apologetically to the attorney than to Lincoln and grabbed the pen from his hold. Bending over, I drew my signature and slid it to Lincoln who did same while muttering something I couldn't decipher.
"Will that be all?" I asked out of curiosity.
"I think so," he answered and slid the paper toward him. "I'll just have to make copies and have them sent to you in a few days."
"No problem about that," Lincoln said, rising to his feet and I took it as my cue to do same hence I wanted to be out of there as soon as possible. "Thank you Attorney."
"You are welcome Alpha," he uttered, shaking the hand stretched toward him and faced me. "Luna."
"It was a pleasure doing business with you," I uttered in all honesty. "I'll contact you if I have further disputes."
"Ah," he trailed off nervously and directed his stare at Lincoln whose brows shot up in a bit of worry at my statement. "Let's hope there are none."
"We can only hope," I declared non chalantly and whirled around to circle my chair and stroll to the exit while Lincoln leaned over to whisper something in his ear.
I twisted the knob and pulled the door ajar, strutting back into the path we came from, not a tad interested in whatever Lincoln was telling him.
He caught up to me as I was a few feet away from the car. I was about to get the passenger door and climb in when he crossed my vision to stand in front of me, eyes questioning and head tilted to the side.
"What?" I raised a question.
"That should be my question," he growled, jaw clenching. "What did you mean by 'if you have further disputes?"
"Exactly what you think I meant," I said in a shrug, folding my arms and staring up at him. "That's if you and I have the same thoughts though."
"So you plan or pray for us to have more issues which would need an attorney's intervention?" He interrogated, voice rising a notch.
"Not us Lincoln, I said 'I' a single lettered word, 'I'," I explained slowly as if speaking to a child and I got satisfied when I noticed a point in his jaw tick. "As I told the man back there? Let's hope they are none."
He didn't say anything more in response as his irises continued to burn holes on my skin. When he didn't move I blurted, "Now can you go over to your side of the car? I'm pressed and really have to return to relieve myself before my bladder gives up on me."
A flicker of concern appeared in his eyes though it faded seconds later he turned around on his heel and was obeying my words until he abruptly halted.
"Who was calling you earlier?" He implored, eyelids narrowing suspiciously at me.
"What's that look for?" I mocked. "Also, is that question supposed to be a joke or something?"
"Do I appear like I'm joking?" He gritted through tightly clenched teeth and I silently prayed he'd crack one of them out of spite.
"Do I appear like I'm going to give you an answer?" I replied his question with one of mine in the same manner.
"Don't I have the right to at least know?" He asked, his voice dropping to a lower tone than the usual.
"You've stopped caring a long time ago Lincoln," I growled, getting annoyed at his behavior. "So no."
"But who would be try—"
"Drop it Lincoln, It's none of your damn business," I muttered in exasperation and pulled my door open. "Now get in and drive us the fuck home."
He sent me one last lingering glimpse after which he did my bid and crossed the hood of the car to climb in, shut the doors and put on seatbelt.

The ride home was as tense as earlier, that's if not more and he decided to turn on the radio before our loud silence ended up shattering the windows.
I got down as he cut off the engine of the car in front of the pack house and instantly ran into Allison who rushed our way as if she was peeking through a telescope to sight us coming from miles away.
"How did it go?" She quickly asked Lincoln as he too came out of the car. "Don't tell me this bitch threw a tantrum or something and you didn't get it done?"
"Don't worry Allison," I murmured in a surprisingly drained voice and I was certain I looked that way too. "I made sure to bring him to you, a single and free man."
"Good," she beamed, linking her arms with Lincoln's. "At least now you hold no right over m—-"
I simply walked away and into the building, Lora was coming outside and we met halfway. She opened her mouth to say something however it seemed my expression and droopy shoulders made her think otherwise.
She held my hand and together we climbed the stairs in silence. I was happy and relieved I had indeed put an end to a sad chapter of my life, nonetheless I was feeling a bit sad and weary because there were good times in between the bad.
"Do you need anything?" She asked as we arrived at the entrance to my room and I stepped inside.
"No Lora, thank you," I smiled, sensing my eyes becoming blurry. "I just want to be alone for now."
She bobbed her head in understanding and shut the door for me. I whirled toward my bed where I sat, got rid of my heels and lay on the soft mattress, letting the pent up tears flow out of me.
