PAIN BEHIND THE BEAUTIFUL FACE

Amahle's pov
I tried to scream, but my voice was caught in my throat. Xolani's eyes seemed to be hypnotizing me, drawing me in with an otherworldly pull.
Suddenly, my father burst into my room, a look of alarm on his face. "Amahle, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice low and urgent.
I pointed to the window, my hand shaking. "Xolani," I whispered.
My father's face darkened, and he rushed to the window. But Xolani was gone, vanished into the night like a ghost.
My father turned to me, his eyes filled with concern. "We need to get out of here," he said. "Now."
