As we packed our bags and prepared to leave, I couldn't shake the feeling that Xolani was closing in on us. My father's words of caution echoed in my mind: "Xolani has powerful connections. He's not just an ordinary criminal."
I glanced around the motel room, making sure we hadn't left anything behind. That's when I saw them - a pair of worn-out chaps, discarded carelessly on the floor.
My heart skipped a beat as I realized they were Xolani's. He must have been here, watching us, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
I felt a chill run down my spine as I picked up the chaps, my mind racing with the implications. Xolani was closer than we thought, and he was getting bolder by the minute.
"Father, look at this," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
My father's eyes widened as he took in the sight of the chaps. "We need to get out of here, now," he said, his voice firm and urgent.
We quickly grabbed our bags and made a run for the door, knowing that Xolani could be lurking around every corner, waiting to pounce.
