Amahle's pov
I sat in the backseat of the car, my eyes fixed on the rearview mirror as we drove away from our home. I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched, that Xolani's eyes were on us even now.
My father, Themba, glanced in the mirror, catching my eye. "We'll be okay, Amahle," he said, his voice soft and reassuring. "We'll start over, somewhere new. Somewhere safe."
I nodded, trying to feel a sense of hope. But it was hard to shake the memories of the past, the memories of my mother's brutal murder. Xolani had taken everything from me, and now he was coming for us again.
I glanced over at Lungelo, my stepbrother, who was sitting beside me. He was staring out the window, his face set in a determined expression. I knew he would do anything to protect me, to keep me safe.
But could we really outrun Xolani? Could we really hide from him forever? I didn't know, but I was determined to try.
