After he had taken care of the bandits who had come to raid the village and slayed them, it was understandable for him that they were very shaken by the event, so he proceeded to just watch them from a bit back as he took the time to calm himself down.
It was only after a few minutes that the village chief, a middle aged man with brown hair, approached him as he looked at the man. But the man looked greatful which slightly surprised him as he had thought that the man would be afraid due to the display.
'Though I guess since this is a different world and danger is more commonplace, the reaction of the people would be different. I really have no idea how the common folk think as well.' Armaros thought to himself absentmindedly as he had spent all of his life in family territory.
"Is everyone okay?" Armaros asked the man as he held his sword.
"Yes, thank you. You really saved us." The village chief said to him with a grateful look.
"It's fine. Is anyone missing?" Armaros asked him as he looked at the rest of the villagers.
"No. All of the villagers had been gathered here, at least the ones who are left alive." The chief said to him as he sighed.
"The guards?" Armaros asked the man as he had an inkling as to what happened.
"They were killed before they raided the village, some of the villagers tried to fight, but they were defeated. They killed two of them as well." The village chief said with a tired sight as he looked at the rest of them.
"Well, I was lucky that I had woken up due to the commotion outside the inn." Armaros said with a shrug.
"I'm glad that you did. We might have not survived if you hadn't come to our aid. Could you tell me your name, sir?" The village chief asked him respectfully.
"Armaros." Armaros said as he didn't feel like disclosing his full name.
'Considering the fact that I have been exiled, it's best if I don't announce that I'm from the clan.' Armaros thought to himself as he came to the conclusion.
Even if he was given the medallion for protection, they never said that he could just say their clan name willy nilly. And he doesn't want to know what the consequences of using it would be.
Aurelia had already shot him down when he tried to talk to her about changing the banishment and he didn't want to know what she would think about that.
"Well, thank you for your support sir Armaros. It is because of you that we have survived. Would you please come and meet with the rest of the village?" The Chief asked him in a polite tone.
"Are you sure? I had just killed all these people in front of them. Wouldn't they be afraid?" Armaros asked a bit skeptically as he looked at the man.
"You don't have to worry about that. The villagers know about the dangers from outside the village. I'm sure they are more than grateful for your help." The chief said to him with a smile.
"Alright." Armaros said with a sigh as he thought nothing of it.
'Perhaps having the gratitude of a village will help in the long run.' Armaros thought to himself as he followed the chief to the rest of the villagers.
The villagers themselves have been taking the time to get a grip on themselves as they held each other, and comforted each other due to the attack on their village. The parents were taking care of their children while many families were huddled together to better calm themselves.
Of course, many of the others were also looking at Armaros, especially the meat shop owner who had noticed the kid who had sold him bear meat.
'Thank the Gods that he was in our village.' The meat shop owner thought to himself as he watched his chief bring the young man to them.
"Everyone, this is the young lad who has saved our village. Sir Armaros." The chief said as he announced the boy to the villagers.
"You don't have to call me sir." Armaros said as he didn't feel that comfortable with being called that.
"If that's how you wish, though I don't think we convey our respect without that." The chief said with a slight nod at the young boys words.
The rest of the villagers looked at the boy and were fascinated that such a young boy was the one who had saved them. Soon they started to thank him for his help and for saving their lives as he could see their faces of gratitude.
Armaros just stayed silent as he gave a small smile as he looked at them. He saw the children looking at him in wonder, probably because he had helped save their lives.
He also spotted girls amongst the villagers looking at him with a twinkle in their eyes as they seemed to be amazed at his sight. He also spotted some of the older girls also looking at him with wonder as he was surprised at their reaction.
'I guess this is because of the difference in worlds. I still don't have too much idea about the common folk, I have to rectify that.' Armaros thought to himself as he gave small responses to the people before he turned to the chief.
"While I am glad to see that all the villagers appreciate my help. The battle has taken a toll on me since I am a bit exhausted from using that attack." Armaros said as he looked at the chief.
"Of course, you would need your rest as well. Please, you can go back to the inn. We shall make sure to repay you tomorrow morning." The chief said to him respectfully.
While Armaros wanted to saw something at that, but he didn't say anything and just nodded to the man before he gave one more look to the rest of the villagers and then made his way back to the inn.
He sheathed his sword and went to his room and took a look at his things before he threw the dead body of the bandit out before he got on the bed and went to sleep. The pain from using magic leaving a mental fatigue due to the amount which he had to endure to attack that effectively.
He closed his eyes and went to sleep pretty quickly after that, and he didn't care about the blood as he was far too tired to even think about it as he went to sleep without any difficulties.
He woke up the next day as he got up and stretched, he sniffed as he smelled the scent of blood but he just clicked his tongue before he got off the bed and took his stuff and left the room. When he got down he was greeted by the inn's owner as he was very enthusiastic and respectful when he came down.
"Sir Armaros, a very good morning to you. I hope you slept well." The innkeeper said to him as he nodded and looked around.
'The place is much cleaner than before. That's good.' Armaros thought to himself as he thought that his mood might've gone down if he had saw that.
"Ah yes, the chief has asked me to tell you that you are invited to his home. He said that he wanted to properly thank you." The innkeeper said to him with a smile.
"I see." Armaros said before he saw the man bring a small bag.
"This isn't much but please take this as gratitude for your help." The innkeeper said as he gave him the bag as he heard the sound of coins in it.
"Are you sure?" Armaros asked in slight surprise.
"Yes. I wouldn't be alive if you hadn't come to our aid. You are the hero of the village. This is the least I could do." The innkeeper said to him as the boy nodded at that.
He left the inn after pocketing the money but as he made his way to the chief's home, the other villagers also greeted him with bright smiles as they greeted him and gave him some gifts or money as well.
He was given some flowers by little girls and the other girls around and over his age gave him small trinkets and the older girls gave him kisses on his cheeks each while thanking him. He saw that they saw him as a hero as he can see the admiration in their eyes, something which he had seen his sisters show when they looked at their mother and they knew she wasn't looking.
He didn't reject them and just let it happen as he said some words back and gave the younger children some words of encouragement while he gave smiles to the girls around and over his age. Though they all blushed when he smiled at them as they seemed to be taken by his smile, something which he noted.
'Well, we were blessed by the God of Light so I'm not surprised by our beauty. All members of our bloodline are otherworldly beauties compared to the normal women.' Armaros thought to himself as he was also shocked at the beauty of his mother.
His mother was breathtakingly beautiful and his sisters also took after her and he also gained the same beauty as well, but the masculine kind, though he was still growing so his face hadn't grown into it yet. He has a cute face though which also appealed to the older girls who found him cute as well.
He soon managed to reach the home of the chief which is very well built as he was ushered inside by the servant there as he was led to the dining table where many assortment of good food was placed on it as his eyes widened slightly at the sight.
"Welcome to my humble home sir Armaros. I hope you like the breakfast we have prepared for you. Consider this a small token of gratitude from myself." The chief said to him as he nodded at that.
"I didn't expect you to give me a feast like this considering the situation of your village." Armaros said to the chief as he sat on a chair.
"The village of Rikhe will repay the help that it's hero has given it to the best of its ability. Especially since all of us are alive because of you. We owe you our lives." The chief said to him seriously.
"I see. Well, I plan to leave soon and start my journey again, so I will be leaving after eating breakfast." Armaros said to the chief as he nodded.
"I understand. Though the villagers would be saddened by it, we can't keep you from going on your journey. But if I may ask, where are you going?" The chief asked him curiously as he looked at the boy.
"I plan to go to the town with an Adventurers Guild Branch." Armaros said simply as he ate the food.
'Okay, it tastes good and it's not harmful for me to eat.' Armaros thought to himself as he ate it.
"The Adventurers Guild huh. The town of Xerxia is the closest one with a guild." The chief said to him as Armaros hummed at that.
"I see." Armaros said as he ate the food.
'Well, I got free food and some more trinkets and money so I guess it worked out for me in the end.' Armaros thought to himself as he intended to enjoy the food before he restarted his journey.
