Nathan was in his boxers and his bed was filled with outfits, but he didn't know which one to pick. He wanted to dress well and impress his date but he also didn't want to come off too fancy and strong. The youngins walked into his room, "I think you should just go like that. You look good." Theo gave him two thumbs-up and Brian started laughing. Nathan turned around and looked at them, "it's not funny." He made a bored expression. "It would be if you-" he cut him off by pushing them out of his room. With some peace and quite he still couldn't pick an outfit, so with his sunshiny personality and genius brain he decided to wear the same outfit that he wore when he went to the club. He thought it would make him easier to spot when they meet again.
He walked down the stairs and as soon as he emerged the youngins started clapping their hands while laughing. "Wow! You're such a genius!" Brian exclaimed through his laughter trying to give Nathan thumbs-up but he was just too weak from the laughing that he couldn't do it. "You're ready for your date?" Alexi asked and he nodded. "But I'm a little nervous." He released a huge breath. "I mean today might actually be the last time I see him." He wiped his sweaty palms on his trouser.
"Might not be the last time you see him." Brian said with a straight face and Nathan felt a little comforted.
"It will definitely be the last time you see him." Theo added to Brian's statement shaking his head, "I mean that outfit is just lazy." He continued talking hearing very well that Brian had lost it with the laughter. Nathan was now feeling a little down with their comments on his outfit, "I'm just going to change it."
"Good idea."
"No!!" Alexi exclaimed at the same time that Theo spoke. They turned to look at him but he didn't care. "Just go. You don't want to keep him waiting right?" He thought about it and he was okay to go. His cellphone rang as he was taking another step. He answered his phone and after saying, "I understand." He threw his phone to the ground. "What?" Alexi asked him, "I have a drill..." he was so disappointed. Being a Vampire Prince was really heavy on him but most of the times he could handle it, but today he wished he wasn't a royal member. "Go to the date, the drill will always be here but your chance with that guy is only tonight." Brian gave him advice, he seemed skeptical about Brian's advice. "Plus you have his bracelet which you did say is important to him."
"Why are you so hung up on this bracelet?" Theo looked at him suspiciously.
"Yeah what's up with you?" Brian also looked at him suspiciously.
"Just go on you date." He addressed Nathan who was really torn between his responsibilities and his date. But on his way out he realized that he can take the punishment of missing one drill but he must make sure that he gets those numbers tonight.
"You look good." Endora complimented her worried friend, "but you're missing a smile." He cracked a small fake smile that quickly dissappeared as soon as it appeared. "Are you still worried about him not showing up?" She questioned and he nodded. "I told you he will show up and even if he doesn't, all you lost is a bracelet that was holding you back." She smiled, "who knows if you don't get it back you might finally move on." Lee gave her a death stare. "Dora that bracelet will always be important to me no matter who I end up with." He was serious. It didn't matter if one day he moved on from his past lover, that bracelet he will always carry with him until he meets the person who gave it to him. He didn't want them meeting again and him finding out that Lee had abandoned him. For the very least if both of them had moved on then at least he should find Lee still remembering him. But as of now he still hasn't moved on from him.
"Lee you need to move on." She tried to comfort him, "don't treat me like a child!" He was getting annoyed. "Yeah well you're acting like one!" She was also getting annoyed, how many times had they had this talk. "You're only going on this date to get that bracelet back right?" She asked yelling. "Of course!" He sternly answered. "Why don't you give him a genuine chance?" Lee looked at her like she was a crazy person. "Dora I don't even know the man!"
"Well that's how relationships work! You meet a stranger, get to know them and finally they become your favorite person in the world!" She was so annoyed at this point. "I mean at one point that guy who gave you the bracelet was once a stranger right but now you even refuse to forget about him even though you haven't seen him for five FREAKING YEARS!!" She screamed the last part. Lee looked at his best friend with puppy dog eyes, he was now emotional, something inside his head told him that what Dora was saying was true but something within his soul told him to hold on.
"What do you want me to do...?" His voice was low and breaking. Endora poked her inner cheek with her tongue. "Just give him a genuine chance and hear him out." She brushed the side of his hands up and down to make him feel better. She hated it whenever he got emotional over this topic when she is clearly pissed, and normally she would give up and shut up but this time she was trying to give him the best shot.
Lee arrived at the restaurant and he sat down after asking for a table for two. His leg was restless and he was playing with his hands because he was soo nervous. At this moment he was nervous about actually seeing this handsome stranger for the first time all sober because last time he was so drunk that he didn't even ask for his name. He kept looking around for any sign of him but would he even recognize him if he came in right now? What if he wasn't as handsome as he seemed that night? All of that didn't matter as long as he was actually able to hold a conversation.
Thirty minutes passed and Lee was still waiting, he was no longer nervous now, he was angry. Where the hell was this handsome stranger? He wanted to take him out and now he is thirty minutes late. And according to their agreement Lee has every right to leave but no matter how much he tries he can't leave. Was this his plan all along? Knowing very well that Lee can't leave because he wants his bracelet back. He was soo mad and he was getting impatient.
"Ohh my God hey." Nathan placed a kiss on his cheek and took a seat. That surprised Lee but he observed Nathan up and down and he didn't seem disheveled in any way. Which means he took his sweet time to get here. "I'm sorry I'm late I-"
"Give me my bracelet." Nathan looked at him with nervous eyes. "You're late, I'm only still here because I wanted my bracelet back." He looked serious and he was. "Can you just give me...." he couldn't finish the sentence seeing Lee put his hand forward demanding his bracelet. He took out the bracelet out of his pocket, he was so heartbroken but he understood Lee's position.
"My name is Nathan Kincaid." He said with a sad tone as he placed the bracelet on Lee's hand. Lee put on his bracelet and he finally felt complete all over again.
"Okay Nathan I'm hungry so let's order, and when my food is finished you better have impressed me so much that I forget that you were late and I'm angry." Nathan's face lit up, even if he had five minutes with him he would definitely make the most of it.
"Sure what do you want to eat?" Lee rolled his eyes, "you're asking the wrong question." He looked at him with a clueless look. "My name is Lee Reagan." Nathan smiled so wide and brightly that it surprised Lee. He finally knew his name and even though Lee didn't know, Nathan knew that now he can't escape him and that's all Nathan needed.
They ordered the food and drinks, and when they came Lee was surprised at how red Nathan's wine was. "I like that red." He mindlessly commented. Nathan looked at his glass filled with blood mixed with wine. He smirked, "you love it?" He was amused, most humans even those who don't know that he is vampire like Lee find his drink disgusting. They always wonder what's in it and how he can stomach drinking such an unappealing drink.
"Can I taste it?" He spoke while he reached for his glass. "No!" Nathan screamed as he was caught offguard with Lee reaching across the table for his glass. Lee froze on the spot, this was his way of coping with embarrassment, he always thought that if he just froze then people around him wouldn't be able to spot him, he would become invisible. "Lee...?" Nathan called for him but he was just stuck. He looked around and saw that people were no longer staring at them, "nobody is watching now." He whispered to his face. Lee slowly sat down after receiving the message and he focused on his food and didn't dare make eye contact. Nathan knew he had messed up, so after a while of Lee ignoring his existence he put his glass before Lee. He stopped eating but still didn't dare to look up, Nathan put his hand under his chin and raised his head slowly. Lee was now facing him but he was not looking at him, Nathan took his glass back and drank it, he flashed his mark even though it was a bad idea but he had to do it. Lee saw the flash of blue in his eyes that appeared and dissappeared as soon as possible. "What was that?" He asked in panic, "I'm sorry." Nathan apologized with a low voice. "Why did you do it?"
"It's just that humans can't drink this." Lee looked at him like a crazy person, "and what are you...? A god?" Lee was just being sarcastic but because of the laws that were made during the peace treaty between humans and supernatural beings he had to be honest. "Can I not tell you now?" He begged. Lee was surprised and then he laughed because he thought he was just following his sarcasm, "okay, I'll wait." Lee brushed it aside which eventually will prove to be his biggest mistake. They continued to have their meal but their conversation wasn't as smooth as it was from the beginning. There was a surge of awkwardness in the air and Nathan knew he lost this one, and this was his only chance to convince Lee that he was his mate, well more like slowly get him used to the idea. The plates were clean and the glasses were empty, "you got this right?" Lee stood up abruptly pointing at their empty table to indicate that Nathan was paying. "Yeah..." Nathan's voice was shaky as he looked up at Lee. He didn't say anything else, he was about to leave. "I'm sorry!" Nathan suddenly begged, he turned around slowly to face him. "Let's have dessert as my last chance to woe you and after you finish and still feel like you do now, I'll let you walk." Lee smiled and Nathan had some hope raising his hand for the waiter so that she can bring dessert menus. "You're still going to let me walk even if I say no because I don't need your permission." He said it so softly but Nathan knew he was being scolded. "You're right, I wasn't think-" Lee raised his hand to stop him from talking. "There is absolutely nothing you can say in the next five minutes because that's how fast I'll eat that dessert, that will make me want to give you my numbers." He flashed a smile again, "now save your money and try another guy or girl if you're into that." He was leaving and Nathan yelled, "I love you!" The neighboring tables looked at him and Lee stopped on his tracks, then walked away fast without looking back or saying anything else. "Damn! I did it again." Nathan said to himself watching Lee walk away.
