Chapter 9 - 09. Indulgence.

"Lexi, what did you mean you can apologize for me?" Nathan stood in front of him.

"I was joking." Alexi answered.

Nathan gave him the 'come on look'. The youngins were at their drill. They didn't have their drills at the same time as they were Princes from different elements.

"Nathan it's been a month, all you did with that guy- what's his name again?" Alexi was fishing for information.

"I never told you his name." Nathan was right, if he did there was no way that Alexi would have forgotten. Although he acted indifferent he consumed and retained every information that was poured it him.

"So what's his name?" He wasn't letting go like that, he needed to confirm something.

"That's not important, what's important is how do I apologize to him?"

"Nathan the boy is a once off hook-up who doesn't know you're a vampire therefore doesn't understand the concept of mates. Since you left for so long I don't think he waited...." He trailed off, something was brewing in his mind. Lee was the type to wait for people, there was a high chance that he waited for Nathan.

"What?" Nathan could see Alexi's mind going on and thinking carefully and he knew whatever his best friend was thinking, that was the answer to his dilemma.

"If you want to apologize then tell me his name." Alexi suddenly said that out of nowhere with a sinister glint on his face.

"Why do you need his name so much?" Nathan was suspicious but he quickly knocked that idea put of his mind immediately. This was Alexi- his best friend Lexi, there was no way he needed his name, it was clearly just to annoy him.

"Lee." He threw the name out of his mouth and took a seat next to his friend.

"Then buy him flowers and show up to his door."

"Noooo!" Nathan exclaimed. "He is not a flower kind of man." He straightened his lips into a long straight smile.

"I know." That slipped out of Alexi's mouth then he heard himself and pretended like he didn't say that. Nathan cast a suspicious glance at him the scratched his head trying to think wheb he mentioned that information to Lexi but it didn't ring a bell, and considering he didn't even mention his name until now there was no way he would have mentioned that information about Lee.

"How did you-"

"Grab some chicken livers in the fridge and drive to the nearest florist and get him flowers. Trust me that will get him to talk to you and then when the right opportunity comes you will have a window to apologize." Alexi knew what was going to be his question so he stopped him mid-way.

"Wait. How did-"

"Goooo!" Nathan tried asking again but Lexi pushed him away and told him to go. He internally wiped away the sweat that almost hit him.

Lee grabbed his keys after dropping the containers of food into the bin. He was going to be late and he hated that. School was the only thing keeping him sane, he would give credit to his best friend too but she was rather too annoying to get such credit.

Lee opened the door in a hurry and crashed into someone, he didn't look up as his bag fell to the floor and spilled out his phone and keys. He looked at his phone to see if it was not cracked.

"Ohh thank god!" He exclaimed in relief hughing his phone and then he stood up and there was stupid Nathan with a grin on his face and a dozen roses in his hand.

Lee didn't say anything instead he turned around and locked his door then stepped in another direction to avoid Nathan. Nathan extended his hand and handed him the roses. Lee took them, "you're done right?"

Nathan nodded his head, Lee flashed a smile and went on his way. Nathan stood there and watched him walking away he also watched him having trouble to hail a taxi and he seemed late.

Nathan pulled up next to him with his car, he lowered the window. "I can take you wherever you want to go and I promise I won't say a word. I will just be your driver." Lee looked around and realized he had no choice.

He got in the back seat of the car, "where to my good sir?" Nathan looked at him through the rear view mirror. Lee handed him his phone wth the GPS open and the location was right there. In an hour and half Lee was where he needed to be.

"Have a wonderful day babe." Nathan screamed as he got out of the car, roses in his hand.

He got to class and handed the roses to his professor, "happy birthday and sorry I'm late." He smiled.

The professor was touched but he didn't show it much. When the professor was showing them their calendar for the semester he included his birthday. He was a lonely man who recently lost his young wife and now he just wanted someone to remember his birthday like his wife did, just to hear someone say happy birthday to him. And to his shock only Lee in his class remembered his birthday, the rest of his students hadn't said a word.

After his day at the university he walked out rummaging through his bag, he heard a honk from a car and when he looked up it Nathan waving at him like a kid. He rolled his eyes.

"What are you doing here? What? Stalking me at my house wasn't enough and now you do it at my school?"

"Ohh, I never left, I waited for you." Nathan explained.

"I see you threw away the roses, glad you didn't do it right in front of my eyes." He sounded genuinely relieved.

"Nathan-"

"Up." He held out his hand to stop him. "We had a very big first fight but I gave you your space and now I'm back to annoy you." He smiled like what he said should make sense.

Lee was not having this and right in that moment Michael walked up to them, "hey Lee, need a ride?"

"Sure." Lee grabbed Michael and walked away from Nathan. He didn't fight or say anthing, instead he just drove home.

"How did it go?" Alexi asked him.

"Great." Nathan smiled and walked upstairs.

The following day, Nathan showed up at Lee's front door holding daisies. "Delivery!" He yelled when Lee answered the door.

Lee snatched the daisies and closed his door right at his face.

"Those are mine." Nathan stopped a delivery guy who was delivering food to Lee after his day of staying outside of Lee's door.

"Uhm, the guy in that house is our regular and you're not him." The delivery guy refused to hand over the food.

"I know, I'm the one who orders for him now." The delivery guy didn't believe him and he was showing him.

"I'm his boyfriend." Nathan told him as he took out a huge tip and gave the guy a pat on the shoulder.

"I thought you didn't like having food delivered to you." He was talking about their fight.

"What do you want from me?" He could tell that Nathan was not planning on giving him the food if they didn't at atleast converse.

"You."

"No." Lee immediately shook his head.

"Lee I'm never going to leave you alone. You're mine, we belong together." He handed Lee the food and grabbed the door, "I'll see you tomorrow." He then slammed the door at himself. Lee stood there blushing a little bit, it was hot, he looked forward to tomorrow.

Tomorrow came but Nathan never did, Lee figured that maybe something came up, I mean Nathan's world couldn't just revolve around him. He looked at his phone and there was no call, or text coming from Nathan. He thought maybe he should call but he couldn't bring himself to. He had acted arrogant enough and if Nathan had come today he would have been less arrogant and more welcoming, but Nathan didn't come. Nor did he come the next the day or the one after that. A whole week and there was no whisper from Nathan.

"Oh my god, you're through it again." Endora pointed out.

"Through what?" Lee asked snapping out of his sadness.

"The man withdrawal."

"The what?" Lee didn't catch what Dora was saying.

"Is it a different man or the sexy club guy." Endora didn't explain instead she continued the subject.

"The sexy club guy." That slipped out of Lee automatically in a low voice. "What did I just say?" He snapped out of it and asked Endora.

"The truth." Endora told him. "Just call him."

"Hell no!" Lee immediately shot that idea down. "Im just going to go out."

He didn't invite Endora with him and honestly she didn't feel like being in his company because whatever she was going to suggest he was not going to agree to it.

Lee wondered around and ended up in a taxi that took him to the same restaurant that him and Nathan went to for their first date.

"I don't like this restaurant." He said to himself and walked on inside, he looked around and he was planning on just having a drink and his whole heart was hoping that Nathan would swing by. It saddened him to think that this is all he knew about Nathan and nothing else.

As he was enjoying his drink, in walked Nathan and by his side a taller than him girl had linked her hand with Nathan's hand. They were talking while walking to their table and the girl was laughing so hard that he could see her wisdom teeth. Lee's mood immediately soured but he sat there and watched for fifteen minutes as the girl and Nathan had fun.

He stood up convincing himself to be brave and he made a beeline to Nathan's table but just as he was about to get close, Nathan turned his head and saw him and immediately Lee took a turn and walked away. Nathan followed him, "Lee!" He called for him.

Lee stopped walking and turned to look at him, "I was- I was here for a drink." He answered a question he wasn't asked.

"Yeah totally get that. The drinks here are absolutely great." Nathan was being sarcastic and Lee caught on to it.

"Okay enjoy your night." Nathan broke the silence that came after his sarcastic remark.

"That's all you're going to say!?" He sounded pissed.

"I'm sorry....?"

"You should be!" Lee yelled and Nathan didn't know what was happening.

"...." Nothing. Nathan said absolutely said nothing because he didn't get what was happening.

"Oh my god, what is wrong with you!?" Lee was getting more pissed by the second and Nathan was stunned, he didn't know what was supposed to be his answer here.

"You show up in my life, stalk me and dissappear and appear as you wish?" He was rambling but it was clear he was still pissed.

"Why are you angry?" Nathan asked, and Lee was about to say something but he swallowed his words.

"Who is she?" Lee asked in a calm, stern tone. It was more accusatory but he think he did a great job at hiding that.

"You mean my date?" As soon as he sad that Lee was disappointed.

"Your date!?" The disappointment didn't last long as it was masking the anger.

"Does your date know that just seven days, fourteen hours and fifty minutes ago you were chasing me like a dog with a bone?" He brushed his hair backwards.

"Talking about, You're mine, We belong together." He used a mocking voice reminding Nathan what he said.

"Yes." Nathan answered.

"Ohh so you didn't te-" Lee paused, "she knows?" Nathan nodded.

"Now she doesn't approve because it puts a lot of responsibility on her shoulders but she is willing to do it for me since I'm her brother." Lee froze, he couldn't believe his ears.

"You were jealous." Nathan sounded and he was indeed amused. Lee wanted to deny it but he looked away instead.

"Okay. How can I make it up to you for having you go through all this trouble?" Nathan was coaxing him.

"Two things." He demanded. "Done."

"Why did you dissappear for seven days and why are you having a romantic dinner with your sister." He asked.

"I had family things to deal with and it became even more dramatic when I got home so I couldn't tell you and as for the romantic dinner, we're from the south." He joked on the last part and Lee chuckled.

"I'm kidding, it's my birthday and sixty is a big deal for our family." Nathan told him the truth.

"It's your birthday?" Lee was amazed at how he just said it like it was nothing and Nathan just nodded.

"What's your second request?" He asked.

"Take me home." This one was more of a test than an actual request.

"Let's go." He didn't hesitate to say yes.

"What about your sister?" Lee asked and Nathan pulled him to the window and through the window they could see that Nathan's sister was sitting with someone else enjoying herself.

"I'll come fetch her after I drop you off at home."
