Chapter 5 - 05. We Are Just Friends.

"So how did it go with the date?" Endora asked Lee while she chopped some vegetables that she had brought to cook dinner for them. She was going to spend the night at her best friends house. They were more like brother and sister, with Lee being the typical brother who couldn't cook for himself or buy himself groceries. Lee never bought groceries for himself. He wasn't like this at first, as a matter of fact Lee knows how to cook and clean, you name them but since he moved to District 15 he hasn't done those things for himself. He has too much trauma from being a slave at home to a selfish mother that doing chores now felt too much stressful for him and there was no one who understood that more than Endora. Although they met five years ago, in those five years Endora saw the stressful relationship between Lee and his mother. She could never say anything though except be the best support for her best friend. Which is why she took Lee back to District 15 which is where he was most happy before the tragedy of five years ago.

"He came late and told me he loved me." He was busy pressing his phone. He was likely going through his picture memories because he hardly did anything on his socials.

"He told you he loved you....?? How did you react?" It was weird for Endora even though she wanted Lee to give him a chance.

"I was embarrassed, for the both of us to say the least.?" He stopped looking at his phone and positioned himself in a way to face Endora.

"I mean Dora it's one thing to meet someone at the club and be interested in them but to completely shout in front of a restaurant full of people that you love someone on your first date..... it's mental!" He was rambling until he trailed off and got frustrated.

"So I mean he can't question that you left him there then." Endora had stopped chopping but after listening for a while she realized this was not the one to get with her best friend and continued chopping.

"Yeah he didn't but..... I think he questions the fact that I slept with him an hour later."

He went back to his phone and waited for his best friend to say something.

"Mhmm" Endora said nothing more as she started frying her vegetables and when she was about to pour water into the pot she was stuck and the words replayed in her mind. She didn't react immediately instead she finished what she was doing and then went and sat next to him, "you slept with him?" No widened eyes, no surprise in her voice, just a questioning look.

"After all this time. You now hear what I said?"

"Well I wasn't expecting that from you and when you suddenly said it, it didn't register in my mind... but now it has." She smiled a big smile. "Every. Detail." She enunciated each word.

"Absolutely not, but I will say it had really been long so there really is nothing major to say." It was true though, Lee had long forgotten the true feeling of sex and even of his lost love and how they used to do it had now faded. So he couldn't tell whether Nathan was good or not, at least he didn't have any comparison for him.

"Did he look like he was enjoying it?" Her curious face said it all and Lee sighed.

"I don't know..." he shook his head slowly, "how does a man look when he is enjoying sex? Is it the same look he has when he is enjoying food?" He asked, it was like he was illiterate in the art of making love and feelings.

"No. Those are completely different things. When he's enjoying food once he's full he will let the food go. But when he's enjoying you, he never wants the fun to end, he wants it to last longer and he wants to make sure he touches every part of you incase its the last time." He nodded slowly and seemed to remember something. His shoulders seemed to perk up and he said, "he ate my a*s!" He smirked while wiggling his eyesbrows.

"Ohhh Myyyy Goooodddddd!!!" She exclaimed loudly while shaking him from left to right.

She caught her breath and turned his face towards her, "did you like it or did you love it?" Those two options seemed rather weird for Lee and he said, "it was wet." He had no other words of explaining that experience and quite frankly he didn't want to explain it. He didn't want to tell the truth about loving it and more and he didn't want to lie about not liking it. Endora let out a breath and rolled her eyes. If her pots were not calling for her attention, she would push until he told her what she wanted to know but she had to check on her pots.

Lee took this opportunity to go to the bathroom and take a leak so that Endora doesn't ask more questions because he knew she could cook and fish for information at the same time. There was a knock at the door and when Endora raised her head she found the couch empty, she quickly stirred the pot and mixed in her seasonings when the second knock came. She rushed to the door and when she opened, a very handsome delivery man stood at the front. "For Lee Reagan." The delivery man spoke handing the bouquet of flowers to Endora and asking her to sign. She signed and closed the door when the delivery man walked away. "What's that?" Lee emerged from the bathroom and heard the knock coming to see who it was. "For you!" She shoved the flowers to him and went back to the pots, the food was just about to be ready.

Lee looked at the card and it was written,

'my heart beats for you... Nathan!' He was shocked to say the least because he never gave the man his address and now there was a delivery from him. Seeing the shock in his eyes Endora asked, "who's it from?" She was now dishing up. "No-" he cleared his throat because it was dry. "Nobody important." He composed himself throwing them into the bin along with the card. He went to the door, opened it and looked around his surroundings but couldn't catch any sight of suspicion. "Who delivered these?" He asked closing the door. "A very handsome delivery boy." Endora answered sweetly as she remembered the sight of that boy. "You're daydreaming about a delivery man now?" He shook his head taking a seat to eat. "Hey! I don't care as long as they are handsome and they love me." She reprimanded. "Im not judging him, I'm judging you." He said in a snarky way. "For what?" As if she didn't know what they fought about everytime she said she was interested in a man. "Falling in love easily." Endora took an audible deep breath in with a hand on her chest, head pulled back as if to say, 'I would never!' But she would. She always has. They had their dinner and turned in pretty late after hitting the books. Whenever she slept over they would study hard because Endora had a problem with studying on her own.

After three nights of studying and Endora taking care of Lee she left and went back to her own place. The place was clean and Lee couldn't be thankful enough to have such a friend as her. He ordered his food and when the delivery came he was surprised to find Nathan at his door being the one to deliver his food. A wave of shock crossed his face but it quickly dissappeared and then he was just exasperated. He looked aroud behind Nathan and saw the delivery man entering his car and driving away.

"Looking around like you did a week ago and three days ago when I sent you the flowers." Lee didn't look scared or concerned that this man has been stalking him, it was like he expected it but what would fear accomplish in this time if Nathan wanted to kill him right now, he would and get away with it. "You still have flowers today?" He didn't look impressed as he took his food from him and went inside the house leaving the door open for Nathan to get in.

"I figured the other ones were dead." He said closing the door. "They are not, I threw them away." Nathan's steps halted. Seeing this Lee made himself comfortable on his couch and said, "can you do me a favor and throw those away too." He opened his food and began unpacking. He stopped when Nathan without saying a word walked to the bin and threw the flowers in, so much so he chocked on his own spit. "So you're not a flower person.?" He walked to the couch and sat on the one facing Lee. He nodded. "Great! Noted." He checked in the air and Lee couldn't help but get a small one sided smile.

"Why are you here?" He asked taking a bite of his food.

"To see you, initially I wanted to see you before but I thought that would be too soon." Too soon? Lee turned his heard to the side as this question rang in his head.

"How did you know where I live?" He asked pushing the question to the back of his mind.

"It's a small neighborhood and when you slept with me, you really made it easy for me to track you." Lee mended his forehead because what he was saying was making no sense to him, what kind of explanation is that?

"Are you a hound!?" He exclaimed because he was talking a different language.

"That's insulting." He was talking on the fact that vampires usually called wolves hounds and they didn't like to be associated with wolves.

"What does me sleeping with you have to do with you stalking me?" He was calm and somehow Nathan loved the fact that he wasn't scared of him because Nathan would never do anything to hurt him. I mean yeah he was stalking him but that was the basics of his species when they wanted something and he wanted Lee Reagan.

"I wouldn't stalk you if you gave me your numbers. But since you don't want to I respect that, so I don't mind coming all the way to visit you plus it's more refreshing to see your face." Lee wanted to ask him that if he asked him to never come see him again would he do that too but he realized it would be a futile attempt, so he said something that surprised both him and Nathan. "Let me give you my numbers then." He wasn't prepared to, but he thought this would be easier to deal with than having him to stop stalking him. The phone was extended and Lee gave him his numbers. Then he flashed a smile as he handed him the phone, "now get out of my house." It was a command and Nathan stood without making a fuss. He wanted those numbers and he got them, plus he knows where his mate lives that was another plus for him.

"And I won't sleep with you again, if that's what you're hoping!" He exclaimed as Nathan walked away.

"Don't worry, I get it. We are just friends." Nathan heard Lee's heart skip a beat when he said that but he didn't dwell on it too much, it might have been just a moment thing.
