Chereads / Carrying The Crown: Selfish Desire... / Chapter 7 - 07. Used To It.

Chapter 7 - 07. Used To It.

Nathan walked into the mansion with a sad expression and clothes that were too dirty and messed up to be worn by someone as clean as him. He was in a daze, as he drove to the mansion he had a burning question in his mind.... he always knew that Lee didn't feel the same way as him but today was just extreme. He really trashed him and threw his kindness to his face. "Ohhh...." Brian wanted to say something but he immediately realized the color that was gone from Nathan's face. He was paler than usual.

"Ohh you guys got freaky!" Theo exclaimed seeing him, he was a little bit of someone who ignored the signs from people sometimes but most of the times he was a warm person. Brian shot him a look and he immediately shut up. Nathan didn't say anything he just climbed the stairs and went straight to his room. He took off his whole outfit, he was in a rage, he was now suddenly feeling something. All this time from the moment everything happened to the drive home he was just numb but now that he was alone and had processed the whole thing he was pissed. He took off the clothes violently from his body, he would have torn them up but something in him wouldn't let him. He took the jacket and threw it to the wall staining the wall, and he threw the trousers down in a fit. He stomped on it a few times while yelling 'f********k!!' at the top of his lungs. The shirt he was wearing he ripped it off but only the buttons were damaged, everything else was good and he also threw it down in a rage. He started stomping the clothes under his feet in a fit of rage while yelling all the profanities he could think of.

The thing that pissed him off the most was that he didn't know what he did to piss off Lee to that point. And was he so undervalued by Lee that he didn't even get a simple explanation. The ones downstairs in the mansion were listening to his fit of rage and they were surprised. There was nothing in this world that could drive Nathan to a fit of rage, sadness- absolutely! But rage was something he avoided to the ends of the world because he was the scariest vampire ever when he was enraged. Sitting with his legs spread open, bloodbag in hand, Alexi decided to comment, "looks like things didn't work out so well..."

The youngins looked at him and Brian took the initiative to prepare a bloodbag for Nathan. As if right on cue he walked down the stairs, he was all clean but he looked kind of broken but at the same time kind of okay. It wasn't the kinda feeling you could read, it was the kind you had to ask someone to explain to you.

"You okay?" Alexi looked interested.

"...." no answer whatsoever from the mighty Nathan. He took the bloodbag from Brian, leaned back and started drinking like he was enjoying a Capri-sun.

"What did you do?" As if it was his f**ken fault. Why is it when they ask him they don't think Lee could do something wrong? Why didn't they ever consider that he could be a victim?

"Why do you think I did something?" The look he was giving Alexi suggested that if he answered wrong there will be a war.

"Obviously it's you..." Alexi could see right through him. Although he sounded accusing, that was not what he was doing at all.

"You haven't told him yet that you're a vampire."

"You stalked him."

"And as soon as he gave you his numbers you didn't let the guy breath." Alexi was counting all the things he had done wrong since the beginning and Nathan was not having it. He simply stood up and walked to the door to take a walk. He wasn't a walk kind of a guy but right now he was avoiding telling the guys excatly what happened at Lee's house. It was not a story he would like to say with his mouth, besides what would he say? Even he doesn't know what happened... "call me when dinner is ready." He walked away.

"Trust me you don't want to lose this one." Alexi said as a closing statement. He didn't confuse only Nathan but the youngins were also confused. What the f**k did he know that the three of them didn't. The youngins were going to ask but he immediately raised his hand to stop them and walked to the kitchen to start on dinner.

The mess wasn't cleaned, only the things that could be carried to the bin were carried there but the cleaning was yet to be done. He didn't feel like cleaning after his breakdown. The images of things he would rather forget kept popping up whenever he saw that spot. He hadn't eaten in two days but he didn't feel hungry, not because he was depressed or something but he kept forgetting. Somehow the food he ordered never arrived. Day three came and he found the courage to clean, it wasn't an easy thing for him but he got around to it and finished the job in three hours. His house was organized again. As a person who lives alone with a trauma to doing chores his house was rather clean. He knew he wasn't much of a cleaner so he kept it as neat as possible without triggering himself.

Luckily after cleaning Endora showed up, he didn't want her to see that mess and thank God she never did. He didn't hear her coming in, he was in a daze seating on his couch with his mind long gone. He had his phone on his hand and Endora scared the sh*t out of him when she whispered 'Boo.' in his ears.

"When did you get here?" He asked wiping his ear wearing a face of shock and disgust at the same time.

"You looked so out of it, I couldn't hold back." She was chuckling as she told him. "Dora." Lee wore a bored expression. They chatted a bit and Endora said that she was hungry, unfortunately she didn't feel like cooking today so she didn't bring any groceries. "Ohh! Don't worry about it. I ordered food so it should be here in a minute." Lee assured. Endora nodded although something was weird because she has been here for a while and the food had not yet arrived but she thought maybe he ordered just before she arrived. They talked a little bit more and it had been an hour now since Dora was there but there was no knock at the door. "Where's the food?" Endora asked and Lee looked lost.

"It should be on the way." He was stuttering a little bit.

"Uhhhh... it was supposed to be here, where did you order the food from? Out of town?" There was sarcasm in her tone but she was dead serious.

"Give me the phone and let me see this place." She snatched the phone from his hand and got on it trying to find the app. "Which one did you use?" She asked looking through the many food apps that he had.

"I don't know the XX one, I was craving that." Endora immediately looked through that and there was no order put through. "You didn't order anything!" She exclaimed.

"Really..?" He was surprised snatching the phone and looking at it. "I must have thought it and forgot to actually do it, but you can put in the order now and lets eat. I'm also hungry." He smiled awkwardly. Endora didn't think anything of it afterall people are forgetful, I mean sometimes you even forget to text back.

The following day came and Endora told Lee that she wanted breakfast from XXX place but Lee forgot to put in the order again. Seeing the food not arriving she asked what was happening and when she saw Lee's phone, he had not ordered food again. This worried Endora but she didn't think much of it. They had brunch instead at a local place near Lee's block. It was good for him to get out as someone who locks himself in. Lee was there but his mind was somewhere else, he didn't know what he was missing but it felt like something had left him and it gave him an uneasy feeling. Endora saw everything but she didn't want to be hasty only to find out it was nothing deep, it was just Lee having an off day.

For the next three days that Endora spent at Lee's house which was more days than she would have loved to spend but she saw that her best friend was off-ish. Those three days Lee kept doing the same thing, his mind would be somewhere else, sometimes he would spend at least about five seconds looking at his phone withouth pressing it. But the thing that made Endora feel like there was something to talk about was the fact that he kept forgetting to put in orders for food even though he has never done this before.

"What is wrong with you?" He was staring at his blackened screen. "Huh?" He looked up.

"Fess up!" She demanded. He sighed and burried his face in his arms. He rubbed his eyes in his palms and looked up at Endora again. "I don't know." He knew. He just didn't want to admit it yet.

"Well with your pace, you're going to die from starvation if you don't fix it." She scolded him. She didn't push because she knew he would be alright, this was not something he needs advice on. Lee was not the type of person you needed to push to talk about what was bothering him. If he trusted you, then when he has a problem he will come to you, he was not the kind to play strong and let the weight crush him.

The problem was a little bit embarrassing which is why he didn't tell his best friend. Apparently he got used to Nathan ordering food for him for the past two and half months, so whenever he thinks about ordering food all he has to do is wait and the food will arrive. But Nathan was gone right now and he had to go back to doing it himself. But his mind was still used to it, including the random texts and phone calls which is why he would stare at his phone endlessly. He was kind of missing him but he knew he would be just fine without him. It wasn't that deep.
