Roxie didn't give him a reply.
She walked into the depth of the store quickly. Her hand landed on anything she could see. The item she touched disappeared before she touched another item.
The male staff that tried to stop her was following her stubbornly.
"Stop! I am telling you to stop, you thief. If you continue your evil behavior, I will report you to the law enforcement officers." he male staff said.
Roxie didn't mind him.
She was not totally heartless. She grabbed what she could and left a few items on the shelves. The future was prone to change. Nobody knows if other people might need the food and items. She didn't ransack any hidden warehouse this convenience store might have.
Those kind of areas would have locks. From the look of things, the male staff won't give her a key and even if he wasn't with a key, he wouldn't tell her where to get one.
She left the store amidst the curses and threats from the male staff.
She could understand him but the world was going to get destroyed. Her sympathy meant nothing in the long run.
Roxie repeated her actions for the small supermarkets and stores around her. There was no time to go somewhere far away.
Suddenly, everything shook. Roxie crouched down. Buildings were collapsing. The earthquake was devastating.
The sky started to become redder. It felt like there was a sea of blood overhead.
Roxie stopped trying to move around. This bloody sky was a sign that the asteroids and meteorites above would fall soon.
Doing any other thing now, will be a superfluous task.
She was waiting near the entrance of a convenience store she had just taken things from. Fortunately, there wasn't any living staff to chew her ear off with curses and threats.
The convenience store behind her was in a significantly better position. Although it didn't crash into the store directly, it was a few distances away.
All the staffs in the store had mutated into some kind of beast. Roxie won the chance to loot the store by taking care of those beasts first.
Soon, the phenomenon she had been waiting for started to happen. Huge balls of fire, rock and other materials fell down from the sky. The asteroids filled every inch of the sky. Trying to hide would just be a futile endeavor.
Screams and cries came from every corner. A huge meteorite was heading straight toward Roxie. She didn't move.
She was gambling on the fact that her past life was very real. She was gambling on the fact that the system would appear.
Those two things can find a way to not relate to each other. Her past life might be real but a system would not appear.
What if she wasn't chosen to be a player this time around?
There were many possibilities. She was just hoping for the best.
Fortunately, all her bad guesses didn't come true.
[Ding! Welcome Roxie Munoz, I am the apocalypse system. I can save you from your current fate if you choose to bind to me and be a player. Which option would you pick?]
[Yes] [No]
A mechanical voice sounded directly in Roxie's mind.
Her lips hooked up into a smile.
Thankfully, things didn't deviate too much from what she knew. She was glad that the system came as expected.
"Yes, I want to be a player." She said.
[Okay. Binding.....]
[Transporting to the first world.....]
An unknown darkness swallowed Roxie's consciousness and she blacked out.
