Emily paused at the mention of "friends", where they really friends?
Noticing her discomfort Penelope said."we can consider each other friends."
Emily smiled, feeling a sense of warmth towards Penelope. "I'd like that," she said, her voice sincere.
Penelope grinned, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Great! Now, let's go get some dinner. I'm starving!"
Emily laughed and stood up, following Penelope to the cafeteria. As they walked in, Emily's eyes widened at the variety of food on display. There were rows of tables laden with all sorts of dishes, from traditional British fare to exotic international cuisine.
Penelope urged Emily to try new foods she had never had before, and Emily hesitantly agreed. She picked up a plate and began to fill it with a variety of dishes, including some that she had never even heard of before.
As they sat down to eat, Emily took a tentative bite of a strange-looking dish. Her eyes widened in surprise as the flavors exploded on her tongue.
"Wow, this is amazing!" she exclaimed, looking at Penelope in amazement.
Penelope grinned, pleased that Emily was enjoying herself. "I told you it was good!" she said, taking a bite of her own food.
Just as they were eating, the cafeteria suddenly went quiet. It was as if every soul in the room had stopped moving, stopped breathing. Emily felt a shiver run down her spine as she looked around, wondering what was happening.
Penelope's eyes met hers, and Emily saw a flicker of concern there. But then, just as suddenly as it had started, the silence was broken. People began to move again, to talk and laugh. It was as if nothing had happened.
Emily looked at Penelope, confused. "What just happened?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Penelope's expression was serious. "I don't know," she said, "but I think we're about to find out."
Just then, the door to the cafeteria swung open, and three tall males walked in. Their eyes were a thick, red color, and Emily could sense a dark energy emanating from them.
Penelope leaned in close to Emily, her voice barely audible. "Those are the Bloody Three," she whispered. "Stay away from them, Emily. They're not to be trusted."
Emily's eyes widened as she looked at the three males. The one in the middle was the vampire from earlier, the one who had been feeding on the young lady in the corridor.
He caught Emily's eye and smiled, his fangs glinting in the light. Emily felt a shiver run down her spine as he began to walk towards her, his eyes fixed on hers.
"What do we do?" Emily whispered to Penelope, feeling a sense of panic rising up inside her.
Penelope's expression was calm, but Emily could sense a hint of fear beneath the surface. "Just stay calm, Emily," she said. "And whatever you do, don't make eye contact with them. It's a challenge, and they won't hesitate to take it."
Emily suddenly wondered if the young lady the vampire was feeding from earlier had consented it." Why can't the school just expell them ,if they were really that dangerous."?
Penelope didn't reply immediately, she took a small bite from her food before looking up."their families like I said are prestigious and most importantly they haven't done anything that would warrant expulsion."
"How about taking blood from unwilling person, wasn't it enough." Emily asked.
"It'd shock you if you knew how many Ladies from prestigious homes were willing to offer there neck to these three." Penelope replied.
Emily suddenly thought back in that alley the lady seem to have been willing and the redness on her face was from being discovered doing such an act it wasn't from fear or anger."absurd." She muttered.
After dinner the two left the Cafeteria heading back to their Dormitory. Emily asked out of the blues."how long have the Bloody Three being studying here."?
Penelope thought for a moment before responding. "To the best of my knowledge, they've been here for three years now, and they have one year left before they graduate."
Emily nodded, taking in this information. "And can you tell me more about them? Who are they, exactly?"
Penelope leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Well, the one on the right is Lord Markus of Heartland's first son, Edward Markus Junior. He's next in line to take over his father's rule."
Emily's eyes widened in surprise. "That's impressive," she said.
Penelope nodded. "Yes, it is. And the one on the left is Robert Maxwell, the last son of Lord Maxwell of Bayshore."
Emily's eyes were fixed on Penelope, eager to hear more. "And what about the one in the middle?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Penelope's expression turned serious. "That's Lucas, the king's younger brother. Students around here call him Lucifer, after he almost dropped a teacher from the fifth ,she refused to end class."
Emily frowned "wasn't that a ridiculous reason for violence."
They got to their Dormitory, Penelope immediately climbed her own bed slumping like a log."it's ridiculous tho ,but what can we do,Robert and I are distance cousins."Penelope revealed shutting her eyes.
Emily gasped."but you are not a vampire." Emily revealed.
"My parents are not vampires,my father was adopted by Roberts grandfather when he was younger ,so he grew up in their home likewise Robert and I but we can't stand each other , especially with the constant sneaking of different maid servants into his room every night."
Emily's eyes widened in surprise at Penelope's revelation. She couldn't believe that Penelope was related to one of the Bloody Three, and that she had grown up in the same household as Robert.
"I had no idea," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Penelope shrugged, her eyes still closed. "I didn't think it was relevant," she said. "Besides, I don't really like to talk about my family. They're...complicated."
Emily nodded, understanding. She knew that family dynamics could be complex and difficult to navigate.
"I'm sorry," Emily said, feeling a pang of sympathy for Penelope. "I can imagine how hard it must be for you, having a cousin like Robert."
Penelope opened one eye, looking at Emily with a hint of amusement. "You have no idea," she said.
'i was actually raised to be his bride.' she wanted to say but her eyes closed and she fell into sleep.
Emily smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Penelope. She was glad that they had become friends, and she was determined to support Penelope through any challenges she might face.
Immediately Emily settled into bed she fell asleep.
