"A clever one aren't you, well let's keep that little courage in a bag so it doesn't cause troubles."Lucas said
Emily's eyes narrowed, sensing a veiled threat beneath Lucas's words. "I'm not afraid of you," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
Lucas chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "We'll see about that," he said, taking a step closer to Emily.
Emily stood her ground, refusing to back down. But as Lucas's eyes locked onto hers, she felt a shiver run down her spine. There was something unsettling about the way he looked at her, something that made her feel like he could see right through her.
Suddenly, a loud noise echoed through the library, breaking the tension between Emily and Lucas. Emily turned to see a book falling off a nearby shelf, its pages fluttering open as it hit the floor.
Lucas's eyes flicked towards the book, and for a moment, Emily saw a flash of annoyance in his expression. But it was quickly replaced by his usual smirk.
"Looks like we have an audience," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Emily followed his gaze, and that was when she saw Penelope standing by the library door , her eyes fixed instantly on Lucas.
"Did I interrupt something?." Penelope asked.
Emily quickly took some steps far away from Lucas."no,it was nothing."
Penelope's eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze flicking between Emily and Lucas. She seemed to sense that something was off, but she didn't push the issue. Instead, she turned to Lucas and smiled sweetly.
"Lucas,I didn't know you were a fan of our school's library. What brings you here today?"
Lucas's smirk grew wider, and he took a step closer to Penelope. "Just doing some research, Penelope. You know how it is."
Penelope's smile never wavered, but Emily could sense a tension between them. It was like they were engaged in a silent game of cat and mouse, each one waiting for the other to make a move.
"I see," Penelope said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Well, I hope you're finding everything you need. We wouldn't want you to get... distracted."
Lucas chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I think I can handle myself, dear Penelope, you seen Robert today.?"
..Penelope's smile faltered for a moment, and Emily sensed a flicker of unease behind her eyes. "Actually, I haven't seen Robert today," Penelope said, her voice measured. "Why do you ask?"
Lucas shrugged, his smirk still firmly in place. "No reason, really. I just thought he might be... interested in knowing that I was here, researching."
Penelope's eyes narrowed, and Emily could sense the tension between them ratcheting up another notch. "I'm sure Robert would be fascinated to know about your research, Lucas," Penelope said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I'm sure he's far too busy to bother with your... antics."
Lucas chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots, Penelope," he said, his voice low and husky. "But I think I'll take my leave now. I have... other research to attend to."
With that, he turned and strode out of the library, leaving Penelope and Emily staring after him. The tension in the air was palpable, and Emily felt like she was missing something - some hidden dynamic between Penelope and Lucas that she couldn't quite grasp.
As the door swung shut behind Lucas, Penelope turned to Emily and smiled - a tight, controlled smile. "Well, that was fun,you should avoid him at all cost, he's way dangerous than you think, these all bloody Three are."
"I don't get it at all, couldn't the school really do something about that."? Emily questioned as they sat down on a round desk.
"Not really ,I told you the school has no basic proof of their wrong doing they can't be expelled, they may be known as dangerous, but they are not bad ,they don't do anything without reason."
"Weird." Emily muttered just then David walked into the library,he spotted them immediately and walked over to them.
"Hello ladies." He greeted as he say down.
"David ,what was your research about ,leant anything new." Penelope asked shifting her gaze from Emily to David.
"Not actually, they just found a strange tunnel at the old wing of the school,it led us right back at the tunnel opening it's just like a one way maze." David said his eyes lightenjnyuo with excitement as he said."but I found out something new about the first ever lived vampire, he's actually resting in his coffin here In Evaria."
Penelope frowned." Evaria."?
David nodded."somewhere in this dukedom, and I heard only the purest of blood could awaken him." David explained.
" Why was he put into sleep in the first place?"" Emily questioned feeling her curiosity soaring high.
"I did alot of research but could only find nothing, but it was rumored that one of his descendent had out him to sleep." David explained with a serious look marring his face.
"he must be very strong to put an original vampire to sleep."Emily commented.
" Whomever he's ,he is a second generation vampire ,no doubt."Penelope added having David and Emily look at her curiously ,seeing the look from their face she cleared he throat awkwardly."you seem to be forgetting that I grew up with Robert who's a vampire ,of course I know Few things about vampires generation."
"What about The bloody Three ,do you know what generation of vampires they are.?" David asked pulling out his jot pad.
Penelope sighed."I once heard Robert mention that he and Edward were second generation vampires,he said Lucas was different,he never spoke about it again." She said with an apologetic look.
David sighed helplessly." Well atleast we know why Robert and Edward are so strong." He said leaning in looking left and right to be sure no one was eavesdropping."what If Lucas was a first generation vampire."
Penelope and Emily scoffed."you have been reading too much books David."Penelope commented."you said dit yourself only the original vampires Descendent was from the first generation and I'll believe anyone but Lucas was."
