As Emily stepped down from the carriage, she gazed up at the imposing structure of Dreamweaver College. The Gothic-style buildings seemed to stretch up to the sky, their stone walls bearing the weight of centuries of history. A shiver ran down Emily's spine as she felt the weight of her decision. She was really here, about to start a new chapter of her life.
The carriage driver, who had introduced himself as Jenkins, handed Emily her trunk. "You'll be wanting to get to the registration office, miss," he said, nodding towards the main building. "They'll get you sorted out with your classes and accommodations."
Emily thanked Jenkins and took a deep breath, shouldering her trunk. She followed the path that wound its way through the beautifully manicured lawns, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling college campus.
As she walked, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. What would her classes be like? Would she make any friends? And, of course, there was the question of the vampires. Emily had always been told to be wary of them, but she was determined to keep an open mind.
After a few minutes of walking, Emily arrived at the registration office. She took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and stepped inside. The room was bustling with students, all of whom seemed to know exactly where they were going. Emily, on the other hand, felt like a small boat adrift in a stormy sea.
A friendly-looking woman with a warm smile approached Emily. "Hello, dear! Welcome to Dreamweaver College. I'm Professor Wellesley. How can I help you?"
"I'm Emily Patton, I'm a new student by scholarship." Emily explained with a smile.
Professor Wellesley's face lit up with a warm smile. "Ah, congratulations, Emily! We're delighted to have you join our community. Let's get you registered, shall we?"
As Professor Wellesley helped Emily with the registration process, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She was really doing it – she was starting a new chapter of her life at Dreamweaver College.
Once the registration was complete, Professor Wellesley handed Emily a small map of the campus. "Here's your lodge, Emily. It's called Ravenwood Lodge. You'll be sharing a room with a fellow student. I'm sure you'll get along famously."
Emily took the map and nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Professor Wellesley. "Thank you, Professor. I really appreciate your help."
Professor Wellesley smiled and patted Emily's hand. "You're welcome, dear. Now, off you go! Get settled into your lodge and start exploring the campus. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it."
Emily thanked Professor Wellesley again and set off towards Ravenwood Lodge. She walked for a small time, taking in the sights and sounds of the campus. The buildings seemed to loom above her, casting long shadows in the fading light.
As she turned a corner, Emily collided with a young lady who was hurrying in the opposite direction. The lady's books and papers went flying out of her arms, scattering across the ground.
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry!" Emily exclaimed, rushing to help the lady gather her belongings.
The lady looked up, a pair of bright blue eyes sparkling with amusement. "It's quite all right, I'm the one who should be apologizing. I wasn't watching where I was going."
Emily smiled and handed the lady a book. "I'm Emily Patton. I'm new here."
The lady's face lit up with a warm smile. "I'm Penelope. Welcome to Dreamweaver College, Emily..... Patton .....are you duke Patton's relative."?
Emily quickly shook her heard "no no , I'm just Emily Patton i have no realtion to any duke."
Penelope's eyes sparkeles with curiosity but she shook her head "my mistake , are you headed to you lodge ,I wouldn't mind showing you the way there." Penelope offered with a smile.
Emily smiled back."that would be very nice , I was assigned to raven wood lodge, any ideas where that's."?
"Of course that's where I was assigned too, such a coincidence, what's your room number."? Penelope asked curiously.
Emily looked at the paper professor Wellesley had written to her. "189,she said that I have a roommate."
Penelope's eyes widened in surprise. "No way! I'm your roommate! What a wonderful coincidence!"
Emily laughed, feeling a sense of excitement and relief. "I know, right? I was a bit nervous about meeting my roommate, but I'm so glad it's you, Penelope!"
Penelope grinned, tucking her arm through Emily's. "Me too, Emily! Let's go get settled into our room. I'll show you the way."
As they walked to Ravenwood Lodge, Penelope chatted about the college, pointing out various landmarks and sharing stories about the students and professors. Emily listened intently, feeling a sense of wonder and excitement.
When they arrived at Ravenwood Lodge, Penelope led Emily to their room on the first floor. The room was cozy, with two comfortable-looking beds, a desk, and a wardrobe.
Penelope dropped her bag onto her bed. "Welcome to our humble abode, Emily! Make yourself at home."
Emily smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Penelope. "Thanks, Penelope. I really appreciate your help. I don't know what I would have done without you."
Penelope waved her hand dismissively. "Don't mention it, Emily. We're roomies now! We'll help each other out."
As Emily began to unpack her trunk, Penelope helped her, chatting and laughing as they worked. Emily felt a sense of belonging that she hadn't expected, and she knew that she was going to love living with Penelope.
As Emily began to unpack her trunk, Penelope helped her, chatting and laughing as they worked. "Blimey, you've got a lot of stuff!" Penelope exclaimed, holding up a dress. "This is lovely, where did you get it?"
Emily smiled, feeling a sense of belonging that she hadn't expected. "Thanks, I got it from a shop in the village near my home. I'm so glad I decided to bring it with me."
Penelope nodded, folding the dress neatly and putting it away in the wardrobe. "You'll be glad you brought it, I'm sure. The social events here can be quite fancy, from what I've heard."
Emily's eyes widened in excitement. "Really? What kind of social events?"
Penelope grinned mischievously. "Oh, there are all sorts of things. Balls, parties, that sort of thing. And of course, there are the vampires' gatherings."
