After looking through his stats Leo equipped his new items and went downstairs to meet his father's guest.
As Leo began to walk down the stairs two laughing men came into view. On the left was Leo's father, but on the right was someone that Leo had only heard about in stories: Luke Pendragon, a hunter ranked 98th in the world and the top hunter in Britain. As Leo was lost in thought the two men noticed the disturbance and gazed towards the staircase. "Is this boy the son that you won't stop talking about?" Luke asked as he started to inspect the young boy that appeared in front of him. "That is correct, sir" was all that Thomas would say making sure to keep a respectful tone about his words.
Hearing this, Leo remembered the fact that the Ares guild is a sub-guild of Nifelheim, which Luke is the vice guild master of.
Seeing how subservient his father had become in front of this man, Leo couldn't help but be amused as he imagined the day when he'd be the one that his father would bow to just before he cut that old man's head off. Thinking of these thoughts, a smile began to form on his lips, but luckily, he managed to catch it before anyone noticed.
"Boy come here!!" Thomas yelled out hurridly, signalling for him to appear in front of the god-like being that is Luke. Following his father's commands, Leo walked in front of Lucas, bowing as a sign of respect before saying, "I, Leo Windward, am honoured to be able to meet you, sir Pendragon." Hearing such refined words from a five year old Lucas couldn't help but be surprised. "Please call me Lucas," Lucas replied with a small smile on his face. "Thank you. Could I ask why I was told to come down here?" Leo continued after gaining confirmation from the man in front of him. "Bratt, you dare?" Thomas yelled as he was about to get up to discipline his son. Lucas waved his hand, signalling Thomas to sit down before he spoke. " Boy, would you be interested in joining our Niflheim guild?" Leo didn't even have time to be shocked by the offer to join one of the top ten guilds in the world before Lucas continued, "If you do, I promise to personally teach you along with providing you the resources that you will need to grow quickly." Hearing these words, Leo became even more shocked, almost going as far as to outright accept, but luckily, he wasn't an idiot. "What's the catch?" Leo spoke, completely forgetting to use a respectful voice. Hearing this, Thomas wanted to kill his son, but he remembered who they were in front of.
"A catch you say?" Lucas's smile widened, and he said, " Well, I guess there is something of the sort that could be considered a catch." Lucas continued as his smile became wider and wider. "What is it," Leo asked with a serious look on his face. "Well, it's simple really. All we ask is that you let us decide who you use your ability on." Lucas's smile finally reaches as far as it can go as he stares into Leo's eyes.
Hearing what Lucas said, Leo couldn't help but feel betrayed by his father, who had obviously told Lucas about his attribute because he was the only one that Leo had ever told other than his unconscious mother. After thinking over this point for a couple of seconds Leo finally started to contemplate what Lucas had said. In exchange for his ability and loyalty, they would give Leo all the resources he needs and would also provide him with an excellent teacher. Thinking over the pros and cons of the decision he was about to make Leo finally made up his mind after many long minutes of silence.
