Chapter 18: 

Wellington Mansion 

Marina woke up earlier than usual, her head felt heavy from the conversation she'd had with Aiden the previous night. The knowledge that Amira and Summer were secretly plotting against her made her feel like she was walking on thin ice. Yet, she refused to let them see her break. 

As she walked to the dining room, the pungent smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. Summer sat at the head of the table, going through a magazine as if she had no care in the world. Amira was nowhere to be seen, which relieved Marina.

"Good morning," Marina greeted, pouring herself a cup of tea.

Summer looked up, a smile dangling on her lips. "Morning. Did you sleep well?"

"Well enough," Marina replied, keeping her tone friendly enough.
