The Wellington Mansion - Dining
Today was a calm and quiet in the Wellington's residence. The clink of cutlery against ceramic plates was the only sound breaking the silence. Marina sat at one end of the long table, she was fighting the urge to throw her fork across the room.
Opposite her was Summer and Amira chatting in low voices that seemed like murmurs, their infrequent laughter made everything worse, for it made the dining room lose its sense of quietness. Aiden's absence at the table only made it worse, he had left very early for his office, and Marina couldn't help but feel attacked.
Summer was the one who spoke first, "Is everything to your liking, Marina?" she said those words in mockery.
"Yes, thank you," Marina responded, with an uneven tone.
Amira had set her glass down on the table, she tilted her head slightly. "You have been freaking quiet lately. Are you sure everything is all right?"
