"Who sent the message?" Aiden's voice echoed in the security room as the words—THE GAME HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN—flashed on the main screen.
Bard, standing next to him with a tense posture, typed rapidly at the keyboard. "The breach originated from an external source, whoever did this got past the first-tier firewalls, and the trail has been completely erased."
"That is not good enough," Aiden snapped. "Find out who is behind this, Bard. I do not fucking care what it takes."
Marina lingered by the doorway, her arms wrapped tightly around herself. Her complexion was pale, and her mind raced with several thoughts as she tried to make sense of the ongoing chaos.
"I do not feel safe here anymore," she murmured.
Aiden turned to her, his expression softening for a moment. "You are safe, Marina. I will ensure that."
