The message on Aiden's phone glared back at him, its simplicity almost messing with him.
Marina stood beside him, arms crossed tightly, her gaze fixed on the screen. "What does it mean?" she asked, her voice steady but mixed with anxiety.
Aiden set the phone down on the desk, his fingers curling into a fist. "It means Maxwell has made his next move."
Marina frowned at those words. "Then we need to act. We can not just sit back and let him ruin everything."
Aiden leaned back in his chair, his intense gaze locking onto hers. "This is not just a game, Marina. Maxwell thrives on chaos. If we react too quickly, we will fall right into his booby trap."
"Then what is the plan?" Marina pressed on. "Because doing nothing is not an option."
Aiden's lips curled into a faint smile, one that did not reach his heart. "Who said we are doing nothing?"
