Those words stung like a bee. Marina stood frozen in the doorway, her gaze fixed on Aiden as he stared down at the desk, his fists clenched tightly in utter disappointment and betrayal.
"What do you mean, Bard betrayed us?" Marina asked, stepping into the office, trembling with disbelief.
Aiden gave her a stern gaze. "He has been leaking information to Maxwell. Every move we have made, every precaution, every damn thing—it has all been relayed back to him."
Marina was furious. Bard, the gatekeeper who had served the family for decades, who had watched over the Wellington mansion with unwavering loyalty, had turned against them?
"Are you sure?" she asked, her voice filled with doubt and anger.
Aiden nodded sharply. "The proof is undeniable. Financial records, messages, everything points to our beloved Bard." Aiden Scoffs.
