"Are you sure your okay ?" Eva asked her friend the next morning. She had stayed over her place.
Verana yawned sitting down to have breakfast.
"How many times should I tell you that am fine " she took her coffee.
Back at the office ,Verana was busy making sure everything was still running when she was away.
Still getting consolation from her workers she worked through the day.
"You have mail from some lawyer " Eva walked into her office.
"Lawyer...is it about marriage ?" She took it.
Quietly she opened it and read the contents , Eva noticing her face turn cold asked what it was.
"The Willington's want there property back in twenty four hours or they will sue me " she said.
"Huh...sue you for what exactly. And which property are they talking about ?"
Verana sighed.
"My home " she said.
...
"You need to explain to your father about what is going on" Mrs. Irvine turned to her son.
"There is nothing am going to say to him. This is my decision " he sat back down .
"But son it affects all of us , the reason why people of our kind marry within the circle is to keep the seceet from being linked out. And now you have chosen someone completely out of that league " she explained.
He was silent.
"I know you wanted to repay her but she doesn't even remember who you . And now that you did you should probably leave it at that and let her live her life" she added.
"But I can't mother. I would have moved on by now but I failed. And when she finally turned to look at me again ,I couldn't turn away ".
"Son you don't love her but feel pity towards her . Your obligation of repaying her has been covered so you need to let go too" she muttered.
He raised his left hand up to her ,displaying the ring.
"Am sorry mother ,I can't let go until our marriage is invalid "
She breathed.
"And how long is that ?" She asked.
"One year ".
"One year ? that not that long ,alright I will explain to your father ".
"That would be helpful"
"Son you know am on your side so please don't disappoint me ' she said walking away.
"I know mother ..I won't " he stated.
"And remember you have a job in the evening " she walked out the door.
He frowned .
