Kain starts to wake up feeling fantastic! He jumps out of bed and starts stretching to get the blood moving. He makes his way back out of the closet, ready for the day.
When Kain walks out of the closet he notices Vulcan Just sitting on the ground,
Vulcan snapped his head around, looking right at Kain, and said, "Hey, you want to learn how to become a blacksmith?"
Kain pauses, considering the proposition. It would undoubtedly be beneficial, but he has observed the man's work and is uncertain if he would be the most effective instructor.
Vulcan Says Well, I thought you'd be eager to jump at the chance. Then enroll in school. You have to get your job class first, but if you land a good one, they'll even let you be taught there for free
So it all depends on me landing a great job class! What if I don't though? Asks Kain.
Then you can decide to pay for it or you can just go to the guild, which is always an option.
Kain is brimming with excitement and asks, "How am I supposed to get a job class before then?"
It's not hard. In fact, it's pretty straightforward. There are a few options for you. You can either go out of the city and hunt until you level up or you can go to the guild and hire someone to help you. Your third option is to go to the dungeons. There are several not far from the city, which is why the city is called Fort Hope. It started as just a camp of people trying to level up and make money. Later, it became a city.
Stated Vulcan
Kain thinks for a second. What are the levels of these dungeons? He can't wait to find out!
Vulcan Well has five dungeons in total, the closest of which is a Goblin dungeon with mostly level 2-6. The boss is a level 10 with two level 8 guards. This dungeon is excellent for low levels and offers the unique opportunity for such a low level dungeon to melt down weapons and use the materials to create better items or sell them as scrap
The next one is a Kobalt Dungeon. It offers the same benefits as the last one, including weapons. However, these weapons are still usable. The levels range from 8 to 14, and the boss is a level 18. He is by himself.
The Spider dungeon is next. Its legs and carapaces are perfect for forging, its eyes are ideal for alchemy, and its silk tailors can use in tailoring. The blood is perfect for enchanters. It's a valuable dungeon, but it's also very competitive a lot of people want to make money after all. The level range is 20-26, with a boss at level 30.
The next dungeon is a lizard dungeon. These lizards are not normal. They can use magic, and depending on what color they are, that's what type of magic they will use. They are the best for making armor because each one offers a different resistance. They're at level 25-32, and the boss is at level 35.
The last dungeon is the most brutal. It's got orcs, and they're the most evolved version of a goblin you'll find, even more so than a hob goblin. They're intelligent and will attack in groups. They range from hand-to-hand to weapon users, including bow to magic, and even healers. This dungeon is not to be messed with. The lowest level is 50, and the boss was recorded at 65.
Monsters have a core located beside their heart in the middle of their chest. This core is almost indestructible as long as the monster is alive. It is valuable and can be used in almost every profession. Some people even use them to cook. The cores will have the attribute and level of the creature that they came from.
Any questions?
Kain states, "If there are so many people here, you'll have to fight them for the monsters."
"Naturally. The majority of the dungeons here have a rapid respawn time, refreshing daily at noon." Vulcan stated definitively.
I understand now. Just tell me how I get into the dungeon. Is there a fee?
I can assure you that this is the great thing about this city. There is absolutely no charge for residents, and as long as you have a city ID, it is completely free.
That's incredible, but if that's the case, then why are there so many people here who look like they're about to starve? They should just go to the dungeons and make money and grow stronger.
There are many reasons why people don't want to join the guild. First, they're too scared to risk their lives, even though they're happy to rely on someone else. Second, they didn't get a good job class and decided to give up, which is just dumb. Third, they're criminals. If you're a criminal, you're banned from the guild and the dungeon. A lot of places won't serve or help you.
If you get a job class you don't like, you can still level up your skills.
The answer is simple: yes, it will be quicker with the right job class however.
If you're stuck here and staying like this, you're just lazy, aren't you?
It's either that or crazy. One thing is for sure: you have to reach level 30 before they'll let you move into the normal city. That doesn't apply to people born there or people with strong born talents
You need to go to the dungeon. You can't hire someone to protect you, and there's no guarantee you'll run into a low-level monster. The dungeon is the best option. It's controlled and you won't be overpowered. Just enter the right dungeon.
Vulcan, I appreciate the information you've provided, which has given me a lot to think about.
Vulcan tosses Kain some bread and states, "You can think while you eat."
Thanks again.
Vulcan turns around and goes into the forge.
