I could get stronger if I go down the route of craftsmen! Sure, I'd need money for that, but it'd be worth it. I don't gain any EXP, but I'm excited to see what else I can do!
I've got a great plan! I'm going to check out the dungeons. I could even kill two birds with one stone! I'll travel to one to complete my daily, and then I'll just need to do the rest before I'm there. When I am there, I can kill some goblins and complete more quests. I can even get there scrap weapons and become a blacksmith, getting even more skill and stat points! This is perfect! I can get so much done in one fell swoop
Kain races to the door to the forge and knocks excitedly. Vulcan opens the door after a couple of seconds and hands Kain a map.
This is the map to the goblin dungeon. There is a road going to it, but people still get lost.
States: Vulcan
Thank you so much! I also have another question about the amazing opportunity to learn how to become a blacksmith. Is that still an option? I'm really excited about it!
I'll be frank with you. This isn't going to be easy. It's labor-intensive, and you'll need to get all of your own materials.
Well, that seems fair.
Kain takes the map and looks at it. He's thrilled to see that there's a circle showing where Vulcan's workshop is. Now he knows where he is! It looks like it's not far away. If this scaling is right, it should only be 2 miles from town. He's excited to leave the city and head there.
Kain is about to head out the door when he stops and turns towards the display swords, thinking, "I really should have a weapon! Let me ask Vulcan."
Kain knocks on the door again, full of excitement.
Vulcan swings the door open, looking annoyed.
What now, kid?
I need a weapon.
Vulcan closes the door and walks away. A couple of minutes later, he returns with a hammer in his hands.
Use this if you're lucky and you'll get the hammer mastery skill, which will help you later with blacksmithing.
Kain takes the hammer, excited to see its weight: about 6 lbs! For his 1 strength, this is going to be a big challenge. Kain begins to think, "I don't even know how to fight, but I'm ready to find out!"
He was thinking and feeling a lot of things, but he decided to just go ahead and start doing his daily routine. He was still struggling to do them, but he wasn't as tired. He decided, "I can't hurt to go look at the goblin dungeon at least!"
Kain began to travel. He walked the same way he has been to the bridge, when he got to the bridge, he did something different. Instead of going across the bridge, he took a right and followed the gravel road. Following this snaking road, there wasn't anything to note, just more of the same, but he loved it! The houses were not well constructed, but that didn't matter. After about half a mile, he reached a clearing where there was a big gate in front of Kain. There were two lines with at least 20 to 30 people in total coming in and leaving. Kain began to make his way to the gate, eager to get on with his journey. In just five minutes, he was at the front of the line. The guard just said "ID." Kain showed him his ID, and the guard let him through. He stepped through the gate and was now outside of the city!
He looked around and saw a long, open road stretching as far as the eye could see. A quarter-mile radius around the city was clear of trees, and beyond that, the only trees that had been cleared were the ones for the road, which was a whopping 12 feet wide!
Kain starts down the road, eager to see what lies ahead. About 1 and three-quarters of a mile in, he reaches a fork in the road. On a sign, the words "goblin" catch his eye, and he pauses to ponder how he can read it. He decides to continue down the road he's on. Before long, he reaches a large cave entrance. Two guards stand watch, their armor and spears a testament to their readiness. He strides up to the one on the right and says, "ID," and Kain shows, and he lets him pass again! Kain then makes his way into the cave with a spring in his step.
