Chapter 12 - The Family secret

Alexander got down from his carriage. He was dressed in a nice blue black shirt and black pants. He wore a grey overcoat. He had tied his long black air in a ponytail as well. Since today he was meeting the town head aka his grandfather he had to dress for the occasion. The guards led him inside the massive mansion that looked to house a few hundred. He was escorted to the front door were an elderly man was waiting for him. This man had a very powerful aura and looked like he could destroy a small mountain with a single strike. He had long grey hair and a long beard that reached his chest.

"Welcome, young Alexander. I have heard a lot about you." He said with a smile. I am Althaeon, the right hand man of the town head. "

"Greetings Master Althaeon." Alexander gave a bow showing a sign of respect.

Althaeon smiled and signed him follow. Alexander quietly followed behind him. He wondered how powerful this man was. If his grandfather was the strongest in the entire town, this man was the second strongest. Alexander wondered how powerful this man was when his system spoke in his head.

"Does the host wish to know the rank Althaeon is?" The system asked.

"Wait, you can do that?" Alexander asked full of shock but kept a clam face.

"Of course." The system replied.

"Then why didn't you tell me this before?" Alexander asked.

"You never asked." The system replied with a few simple words.

Alexander realized that he needed to explore the system more to understand it so it can help him as well.

{Name: Althaeon

Race: Elf

Rank: 1 stage Grandmaster

Attitude: ????

Blessings: ????}

" A grandmaster. That is crazy. Wait, why can't I see his attitude and blessings?" Alexander asked.

"You must first make contact with him first." The system said.

Alexander immediately throw away the idea of knowing the elf's attitude and blessings out the window. The was no way in hell he was going to mess up in front of this power man. He exhale and followed as they continued to walk in silence. They kept walking for a few minutes until they arrived at a garden at the back of this massive mansion. This garden was beautiful was different types of flowers growing everywhere. They arrived at site were there was a large tree and a table was located. The table was under the trees shadow. There was chairs opposite them and one of the chairs had an individual sitting on it. This aura was incredible and if Althaeon could destroy a mountain with a stick then this man could use his aura alone to destroy the mountain. Sitting on the chair was non other than the town head also Alexander's grandfather, Ben Vale. Althaeon bowed and disappeared like he was never there. Immediately he disappeared the old man sitting on extended his arm signing Alexander to sit. Alexander walked towards his seat and bowed before sitting. Immediately he sat he used his system to check.

{Name: Ben Vale

Race: Elf

Rank: 3 stage Grandmaster

Attitude: ????

Blessings: ????}

Alexander couldn't believe his eyes. This man in front of him was a 3 stage Grandmaster. After studying, he learnt that there was a total of 4 stages of the Grandmaster rank before the saint rank. He sighed deeply remembering how he had to surpass all this to complete his mission in the end. He then focused on Ben realizing he had was about to start the conversation.

"How are you doing today, Alexander?" Ben asked as a two cups of tea appeared before them which he took.

"I am good...town head" Alexander responded as he also took the cup.

"So, let's cut to the chase. Congratulations on becoming an Add Awakening." He said with a smile. "As a reward."

As he was done making that statement two weapons appeared from thin air and landed on the table. They were twin sabers. The first one was like a crystal made.The crystal saber shines like a beacon, its icy blue glow illuminating the surroundings. The blade's crystalline structure refracts light, casting miniature rainbows on the ground. In contrast, the onyx saber appears as a dark, mysterious void. Its black blade seems to absorb light, radiating an aura of power and sophistication. When wielded together, the crystal and onyx sabers create a stunning visual dichotomy.

The system also gave him an alert.

{Twin Crystal and Onyx Sabers.

Strength increase by 25%

Agility increase by 50%}

Alexander looked at the sabers before looking at his grandfather confirming for approval. Ben nodded and immediately Alexander took the swords. He got up and practiced a little trying get himself familiar with the sabers. Within a few minutes he was able familiarize himself with these sabers which his grandfather took notice of.

"I hope you enjoy it. And that's all I have for you so you know the way out." Ben said as he continued to focus on his tea. Alexander bowed deeply and turned to leave. He stopped midway and returned.

"I apologize for this but I am now going to ask you a question as your grandson." Alexander said with a determined look. Ben looked his way and blinked not expecting this. "Why are we not living in this mansion with you like the rest?"

Though Alexander loved his privacy. He still wanted to know what the reason he was not living in a mansion. Ben revealed an understanding look and smiled.

"I can answer that question as your town head as well as grandfather." He said and he took a sip of his tea. "It's simple, the reason why you aren't in this mansion is because your father committed a crime."

Alexander was rooted to the ground. He couldn't believe he clam looking father who looked like he couldn't even hurt a fly committed a crime. Before he could say anything else Ben continued.

"Years ago, when you were only a month old. Your father helped a criminal escape. The criminal was very dangerous and hardly did anything wrong but a criminal was still a criminal. So as punchiment, not only was he to leave the mansion but was no longer allowed to go for the town head position as well as my successor." Ben explained everything to the now confused Alexander.

Why would his father take that much risk? He knew his father wanted the town head position because he was already grooming Alexander to take that role once ready. And Alexander's dreams were not to become town head. He them realized something and looked deep in his grandfather's eyes.

"Who was this criminal?" Alexander asked.

Ben thought for a while before sighing and answering.

"Your mother."
