Erams group left for class and managed to be the first people there. Eram talked with his friends about what he missed. " So what did I miss?"
Lila responded for the group: "Honestly, nothing. For the past few days, we've been training to sense the pho around us, but it's taking a while. Most of our class has been able to sense the pho."
Yuki looked at Eram and asked, " Can you still sense the pho and manipulate it like you did before?"
Eram said, " Maybe. Here, let me try." He closed his eyes and focused. He took deep breaths and felt something. He managed to move the pho around him slightly, stunning his group around him.
Yuki looked stunned. " How did you move it?"
Eram looked at her and answered. " honestly, I'm not too sure. I focus and I can feel it. It feels kind of like a coat I guess. And once I feel it use some of my focus and will to move it."
Michael said." So like this?" He closed his eyes and breathed deeply, focusing even harder than Eram. After 20 seconds he could feel it. He tried as hard as he could to move it but to no avail. " Do you know what I'm doing wrong?"
The teacher appeared and answered curtly stunning the group. " it's not one of your limbs until you make it so. You have to use a technique called willpower to feel and move it. You can feel it because you are thinking about it. If you want to move it not only do you have to feel it but you must want to move it.
This is the most basic understanding you must accomplish to move forward. This technique has no practical uses but will help you later down the line with things like setting up fields. Don't worry because today since you are back Eram we will be Grading the talents and abilities of everyone in the class. Please guys sit down." Prof. Peygot said to the group which quickly followed.
Once they sat down within 3 minutes everyone showed up and sat down thinking it was going to be another boring day. To everyone's surprise, it was worse. The teacher pulled out three things, a pair of glasses, a cube made of a shiny stone with weird engravings on it, and last but not least a square mirror that was on the wall.
She looked at the students and called on Yuki. " Come to the front of the class, please. We will do this one at a time and I will explain it as I do it." She picked up the glasses and talked again. These are the soul-seeing glasses." She pointed at the mirror and continued. " This is the seeing mirror. It will show the class what the glasses see." She then pointed at the box. " And lastly this is the Pho chamber it will absorb all of the pho in your body and will allow us to see how much pho you naturally hold."
Ms. Peygot instructed Yuki to introduce herself "I'm Yuki I'm 14 and I have a Heart core."
The teacher smiled happy that she introduced herself correctly. " Class pay attention to the mirror." She pressed a button on the mirror Lighting it up and showing what the glasses were seeing through the lenses. It was weird though as it showed lights and darkness. "This is kind of what it looks like to look through the glasses the only difference is that I can also see with my eyes as well. With all that being said what you need to note is how bright the lights are. The lights are souls and the brighter they are serves to show how dense the soul is as well.
One of the things you will be graded on is soul resistance. Damaging the soul is dangerous so instead we measure density because typically denser souls will take less damage and will typically last longer. To show you what I'm talking about look at the mirror as I look at Yuki."
Peygot looked at Yuki and her soul appeared showing a light that was almost pure white. The teacher then explained to the class what they were looking at. "This is Yukis' soul as you can see it is almost pure white and only has a little bit of grey. That means she has a soul that is extremely dense so it should be tough to damage. To grade her soul it would be a 9 out of 10 and would be considered a grade A.
Next Yuki, please put your hand near the cube." She did as instructed and the tube split up into about 100 smaller cubes with a blue crystal in the center "Please put your hand on the crystal. It will drain the pho you have in your body and will light up the smaller cubes. Each cube that lights up is 500 pho roughly. Once you get drained completely we will time how much pho you will get back in 1 minute. To measure that you will still keep your hands on the crystal and the pho will be injected back into your body and we can see how much it is based on the color of the cubes."
Yuki felt nervous but she put her hand on the cube. She felt weird but wasn't getting tired. The cubes started lighting up one after the other until 16 lit up and there was another dim cube. "What does that mean?" Yuki asked nervous that it wasn't good.
The Teacher smiled and responded. " you have a core size of about 8200 and that gives you another A grade now let's see how much you absorb in 1 minute." Everyone stared at the cube that was dimly lit. The cube slowly got darker but by the time the minute was up, it lost about half of its light.
The teacher spoke up "Before you remove your hand I will tell you how much pho you absorbed." Yuki didn't understand why she wore it that way but listened nonetheless. " You absorbed 90 pho which gives you a Final grade of an A. In total that gives you an S grade as long as you get more experience but right now I'm giving you a b. Next." Peygot pointed at Eram wanting to come up to the front of the class.
Yuki took her hand off the crystal and almost passed out from pho deficiency. She got a piercing headache and almost fell because of how dizzy she was. She stumbled back to her seat drenching it in suede. The ringing in her head was driving her insane but she stayed quiet.
Eram reached the front of the class as Yuki stumbled to her desk. Eram started to speak up. " My name is Eram and I am 14 and have a body, mind, and soul core." He stood in the front excited to see what his grade would be.
The teacher looked at him with disappointment " You guys see how much more gray his soul is compared to Yuki. This soul grade would be a 6 out of 10 making it a B grade." Eram felt dejected hearing that not knowing why his soul was so weak. " go to the Cube.
Eram followed what Yuki did and put his hand on the cube and let it absorb his pho. 33 cubes lit up almost perfectly shocking the teacher. After the teacher's shock wore off she managed to speak " You have a Pho capacity of 16,500. That is easily one of the highest in recorded history. You get an S grade on that." one of the cubes slowly started to dim but at a noticeably faster rate than Yuki. After a minute passed the teacher was still gawking.
She began to speak again stunned. " You have a Pho absorption rate of 230. Once again that is an S grade for Soul Affinity. To give you a final grade that you should reach at the end of graduation is an SS. To explain the grades which I forgot to do earlier here you go. Soul density is graded on a scale of one to ten, ten being s, nine and eight being A, seven six five is B, four being C, and the bare minimum the school can take. The other three are pretty much worthless and are F for Failure.
The soul capacity is another one I should explain. The S grade is given to anybody who goes past or is equal to 10000, A is 6000, B is 4000, and we can't take anyone less than that. As you could see Eram was well above that margin but we can't grade higher than that.
Lastly, we grade on Soul affinity which is how fast you naturally absorb pho. 120 is S which Eram passed by an even higher margin, A is 80, B is 60, and C is 50 pho absorbed a minute. Both Eram and Yuki are extremely impressive.
You might be wondering how did Yuki get an S for a final graduation grade. Here is how it works, Once you gain more skills you can typically fight at a higher level than what your average grade is. If you have three As' then you go to S three Bs' you go to A and so on. The only outlier is people like Eram who can jump two simply because he has two Ss' in his three grades.
As long as you get a final graduation grade as an A you should be fine. Most Soul_beings have a grade rating around B or A so don't worry too much." Eram then took his hand off and almost fell to the ground like Yuki but also managed to wobble back to his seat.
After Peygot got done talking she called up the next student who was Michael. " My name is Mychael and I am 15 I have a heart mind and soul core" He got graded and went through the same problems as Eram when he got off of the Scale.
" Good job Michael, You have a Grade S soul density with a ten out of ten, a grade A Pho capacity at 7800, and lastly a pho affinity of 80 which is of course a grade A. I will give you a final grade of S," said Peygot. " You come up here." She pointed at Alexander.
Alexander introduced himself " My name is Alexander and I'm 15 lastly, I have a mind core." Alexander got up to the front and smiled as he heard the first thing.
"Alexander looks like you got an S-grade soul density." The teacher said with a toothy grin. Lila started to smile as well.
Alexander looked excited and shot back. "Really!"
Ms. Peygot started laughing. " No of course you didn't. Alexander fell to his hands and knees wanting to weep. "You did get an A though. Alexander moved onto the Pho chamber putting his hands on the crystal once again hearing something disappointing. " that looks like it is our first B on pho capacity. You stored 5700. And let's see your pho affinity." Alexander was looking like a train wreck but he finally got his win.
"Amazing two S-Grade pho affinities in one day! You have a pho affinity of 190 Pho a minute!" The teacher unnaturally squealed like a little girl giving everybody the creeps. " Ight Alexander I give you a graduation grade of S as well due to you having an S and a high A. Please sit down." Alexander let go of the stone and fell flat on his face.
Lila immediately got up and ran over. " Ms. Pyegot is he okay?"
Ms. Peygot laughed " Of course he is. The other three just toughed it out while he didn't" Ms. Peygot found herself in a better mood knowing that her class wasn't going to be a waste of time like she first thought when she started this semester. She picked Alexander up like a sack of potatoes and sat him on the seat. " Well since you were already up I was going to call on you anyway. Please do what you need to do."
"My name is Lila and I have Mind and Soul Core. I'm also 14." Lila said.
"You have an A-grade soul density." Lila went to the Pho chamber and touched the crystal. " You have a pho capacity of 7800, Which is another amazing A- Grade." Ms. Peygot was excited to see each of the group's potential. After a minute passed Ms. Peygot shrieked again. " Another A-grade with 110 Pho affinity You get a Final graduation grade of S!"
Lila was so excited she let go of the crystal and passed out. The class continued with a few students going every 5 minutes. The downside to the rest of the class was that there were no more S-grades which put Ms. Pegot in a sour mood. After a while, Alexander and Lila woke up staring around as class went on.
